Teddy is from Brooklyn, New York, and is entering his third year of college. He's aiming for a degree in fire science so that he can be a firefighter, something he's been passionate about ever since his mother died when their apartment building caught fire. Otherwise, he's a sporty guy who's on the football team, and though that makes him a jock, he's pretty much the Gentle Giant trope namer (despite him not being that tall). When he's on the field, though, he can get pretty damn intense. Off the field and training to be a firefighter, he spends time with his fiance, Billy, and plans have been made to be married once they're out of college and have jobs secured.
He generally tries to help freshmen fit in, takes part in most school spirit events, and is always willing to lend his strength to anything that needs it. Teddy, like his canon counterpart, is pretty much a big ol' teddy bear. I'm totally up for socialization plottings and frienddates!
Edit: A bit more!
After Teddy's mother died, there were two families who were close to his original mom and dad (he'd been adopted by his mother's sole sister at the time), yet not blood-related, who got into a custody battle over him. Ultimately, they were deemed unfit to care for him, but they still to this day call him and try to win him over. This, plus his mom's death, makes it difficult to focus on his studies sometimes, though he's been doing a bit better now that he's seeing a counselor for it.
He dabbles in music, loving to play his guitar on campus. And while Teddy isn't much of a fan of theater, he is a fantastic actor, though he also can't audition due to how much it'd conflict with his schedule. Still, he hangs out there, mostly because Billy loves it and it has proven to be a good study place. He's a bit tight on money, as he refuses to take more of the Kaplans' money after they helped pay for his tuition. So he takes on odd jobs, including helping the theater with set design, or whatever else anyone needs. He's not part of Eta Beta Pi; not that he's against it, but it's just not his thing.

Also, he still makes fantastic cookies.
