EVENT
OKAY IT'S TIME FOR THAT EVENT KIND OF THING WE SOMETIMES DO HERE. This one is based on Kyio's awesome suggestion over here. With some changes. Because...idk just because.
Starting RIGHT NOW and up until Thursday the 26th, your charactersmay (my bad) are going to begin receiving letters. These letters can appear on their beds, randomly fall out from between the back pages of their journals, inside their desks, in the fridge, oven, bathtub, what have you. Wherever you think you're character would be most likely to find it. It will be a plain white business envelope with your character's name on the front. If someone other than your character were to open it and take out the letter, they would find just a plain piece of paper. After your character has read it, though, the words will become visible to anyone that looks at it, so make sure to put it somewhere safe if you don't want it read!
As for the contents of the letter, it will go something like this:
Dear [insert character's name],
We extend to you the opportunity to return home. This deal is a non-conditional one time offer; additionally, once you have been returned home, you will never again reappear in Luceti. You will be returned in the same condition as when you left, and you will remember nothing of your time spent on this world.
If that is not sufficient, you may wait to see if the Organization is capable of returning you. Know that this chance will not be repeated. Know also that your continued absence from your world/universe has dire consequences on your future, those close to you, etc. Your existence here is unnatural, and every day you spend here breaks you apart.
Soon, you will be just like Tyr.
Your calendar Friday, we will open a gate in the central plaza of this settlement. It will remain there for twenty-four hours. Use that time to escape from this world.
Choose wisely.
Sure enough, the morning of Friday dawns (EST time) and there's a large white disc, large enough to pass a semi truck through right next to the plaza. When viewed from the side it looks like a white line, from an angle, an oval, and from straight on a circle. If your character walks through it, they'll be transported somewhere random within the enclosure; the desert, dropped into the lake, atop the mountains, maybe even back to their own beds! It's up to you. However, their journals won't be with them, and they'll find that if they try to speak they'll only be able to make strange animal (animals from other worlds are acceptable as a means of non-communication :| ) noises for the next two days. If they try to write, they'll end up drawing caricatures of themselves in embarrassing or compromising situations.
