It certainly would make things easier for him and the other escort probably. Even if Ikki is a lone wolf by nature he can work with people during a crisis and this certainly would be one, even if it's forced on them -but that's not entirely new for him-.

And Ikki could go straight for the frontlines, he's a fighter after all, but I also see him taking priority in the escorting and once those are cleared heading to the frontlines. Also, I suppose he can locate the people easily by reaching out with his Cosmos and searching, so he could also help in finding them fast.

I don't mind teaming him up with someone, though Ikki, in all his Ikki-character, will claim to work better alone. He won't avoid teaming up thought, so I suppose it could be work with.
