I did indeed. He was painfully close to his mother, and when she died spiraled into an extreme depression/rebellious stage. The climax of his recklessness was taking a boat out to sea, and being stranded for days during a storm with no food and only a passable amount of water. His family of course found him quickly, so in this AU, what Sanji took away from the experience wasn't so much a devastating streak of starvation (Though it still sucked a LOT) as it was getting a taste of how many people selfishness can affect.
