Natasha: is from an aristocratic family, the oldest of three daughters (the other two being Katniss and Kate). She's a professional ballerina and loves it and fully intends to continue pursuing it despite her parents' not-so-subtle hints to find a nice man and settle down already.
She's already caused the family one scandal - that of having a daughter, Rue, who is now teenager and already following in her mother's with her love of dance. And shh, we're ignoring how Natasha has a teenage daughter who's not all that much younger than her own sisters. Rue's father is a huge unknown, a secret Natasha's never shared with her family, not even her daughter, despite the uproar it caused when it happened. She's fiercely protective of her daughter, however, despite raising her mostly on her own, and also dotes on her younger sisters, all of them united in the common struggle of wanting to pursue their own paths while dealing with controlling and overbearing parents with 'plans' for their futures.
She is going to be questioning things quite a bit as the days wear on, because yes, she has skills and instincts she shouldn't have. Not to mention, this won't be the first time she's had false memories and a false life implanted in her brain. Things will stick out as odd but if she does anything about it remains to be seen.
Artemis: has become an Elric and totally taken Al's place. She's the daughter of Trisha and Hohenheim and sister to Ed. The family runs a small grocery store for the middle class folks and Artemis takes more interest in the running of things than her brother. She's not very good at being a girl and ladylike, although she's a little envious of those that can pull it off. Still, she's pretty confident in herself mostly and her place in the grand scheme of things. She has a boyfriend, Virgil, and has friends from both the middle and lower class that she hangs out with on occasion. For the most part, she'll go with the flow on the event as a whole and might be persuaded into the fighting if the whim strikes her right.
Simon: is lower class. He and his brother Jack have always been that way and were raised by their mother, who served as a maid in Vastra's household. Their father is an unknown aristocrat who dallied with their mother and got her pregnant and was never heard from again, making it a hard life for the young woman raising two young boys. It's instilled a severe mistrust and dislike of all things high class in Simon, especially after their mother passed away a few years ago, leaving the boys alone. Simon dropped out of school to work and to support him and Jack, helping out in Vastra's household still because he feels forever indebted to her, and working anywhere else he can find jobs that pay, doing odd jobs, construction, anything. He's very protective of Jack and distrustful of his brother's new friends, not liking that they're dragging him more and more into the high society life. he's also protective of Sam, a young man he took under his wing after some harsh family problems of his own, especially when his friend shows an alarmingly loose grasp on reality.
Simon will probably question his life a little less than the other two of mine, but he's not afraid to fight and is fiercely protective of his 'family' - the blood one and those he's been drawn together with by circumstance.
What I'm looking for: I think for the most part I have family ties pretty well established. If someone wants to toss friendships our acquaintances or casual connections my way, I'm completely open to that too. :D
