She has two sons, Max and Eugene, and one little cuckoo-son Jack who used to do things around the house for her. And then she realized having a lower-class person around the house made it less likely that her kids would grow up to be classist jerks and thus Jack was adopted and passed off as her 'third son' at various upper class events (FOR FUN AND... OKAY, JUST FUN). Simon is coming too. She's also friends with Trisha.
Once the battle starts, Vastra's going to snap back into what she does best--kicking the crap out of Dream Shifters with her sons. 83 She might be fairly badly wounded during the battle given she might not have all her senses back right away.
