Due to a sudden increase in my work hours for the week, and the realization that a 24-hour sign up might not be the best course of action, I'm gonna hafta delay the deadlines for the last part of the event just a tad.

Sign-ups end Wednesday, at 12:01 AM EST.

The Rapture will take place Friday, from 12:01 AM-11:59 PM.

So, sorry to leave you guys hanging somewhat, but I think it'll be better in the long run. So in the meantime...something very strange is going to be happening regarding the characters barcodes and wings.

This is, of course, OPEN TO ALL.

First your character will hear a high-pitched shriek; every character will hear it, at your own pace if you like (as long as it's by Thursday night). After that, the barcode on the back of your character's neck will burn, but only for a few seconds.

Lastly...the wings will begin to die. First, your character loses all feeling in them, while also becoming weaker and weaker, as if their strength is being sapped by an illness. Nothing life-threatening, however, and they'll still have enough strength to get around well enough. The wings will start molting, until all the feathers are gone and all that's left are these skeletal things sticking out of their backs. Not pretty.

How would the wings molting affect characters that are already injured/sick/recovering/etc.?

If they're already sick and injured, then they're pretty much bedridden for the most part.

Do they keep the ligaments so they can still move the bones?

Aye, they can still move them. Although whether they'd want to waste the energy trying is up to you.

Would it be like the power cap? Or if the character had a strong enough will, could they ignore it in a fight or something similar?

Well, it's like an illness. You can't exactly ignore something happening to your body, so they can try and fight if they'd like to, but they'll get worn out soon and probably won't be as strong or energetic.

Will all of these happen at the same time, or will there be a pause between each one? Like, will they hear the screech, then the bar code burning, and then start to feel their wings die away within seconds of each other, or will the wings start to molt a little after the bar code burning away? Also, how long does the molting last before the wings are skeletal?

Right after the screech is the barcode thing; that's immediate. However, the wings won't start to molt for at least a few hours, and it'll take a day of molting for them to become completely skeletal.

How annoying is said shriek? Is it like 'wow, that's annoying', or 'omg, make it stop'?

And niiice. I've always wanted them to have boney wings! XD

How bad is that burning? Even though it's not long..=\ how bad does it hurt?

AND, does the dying wings hurt, or is it just overly uncomfortable? It sounds like it would be...

Burn like "Ow my hand touched the burner" burning. But it's not gonna leave a physical mark or anything, like it won't be read and sore.

It's mostly uncomfortable, with the sapping of strength and whatnot.

2) Is everyone affected?
3) Will everyone be affected at the same time, in-game?

3) No, you can choose when you'd like this to happen, but you must at least start by Thursday, since the event's over Saturday at 12:00 AM.

Is it an actual sound, or is it in their head? Would it be louder/painful for characters with heightened hearing?

No, I'm gonna say it's in the head, since characters can be affected individually and at different times. And no, it wouldn't sound any different between characters.

Question: about the wings thing, will there be blood involved? I assume because they molt, there will be some blood along with the fallen feathers, right?

Also, will the characters feel pain on their wings as this happens? Also, will this affect their returned abilities? Since before if the wings were torn from them they'd die and everything. This is as close to wing tearing as it gets I presume ^^;

Erm, actually no. The feathers will just fall out, like a bird molting.

No and yes; they'll feel weaker, so this'll obviously affect their stamina and strength, but it's not so much painful as it is uncomfortable.
