Event!
First things first: I want to once again toss out a huge, huge thank you to everyone who so generously donated to
lucetifunds during the move. We've used up almost all of the funds now and have fulfilled all of the requests for donated paids. Thanks to those who donated, we were able to distribute the equivalent of 45 paid accounts! Wow!
Secondly, the part you guys really care about:
~EVENT TIME~
Well, it's almost that time of year! That special day that all of you have been waiting for is at last coming. That's right:
the release of Tales of the Ab Valentine's Day!
And as usual we will be having an event! It will begin on February 12th at 12:01 AM and end on February 18th at 11:59 PM.
That Lovey-Dovey Bit
For those unaware and/or new to Luceti, it's a tradition to, every year, have characters fall in love at random for the duration of this event. By now, many characters expect to be falling in love via the journals. However, this year that will not be the case! Since many (if not most) of these relationships are pre-planned, characters this year will simply be drawn to their partner, regardless of how they meet or who they might have spoken to beforehand. For example, if Masa and I agreed that Ling and Suki would be a couple, they could both wake up in their homes, greet their housemates, go about a normal day - or indeed several days, if we wanted the event to begin for them later on in the week! - and then, suddenly, upon meeting by chance, love would blossom! These meetings can take place in any way, whether they be over the journals or in person.
There is something of a catch. Similarly to the Luceti Valley AU event, the perceptions of affected characters will be altered as soon as the romance begins so that it seems completely normal. Suki wouldn't find loving Ling to be that unusual or disturbing, since naturally she's never been in love with or even engaged to Sokka! And Sokka, if affected, wouldn't be bothered at all because hey, Suki's always been free to love someone else. On the other hand, if (for example) Katara was unaffected, she would wonder what kind of cactus juice her crazy brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law have been drinking. But she's just insane to suggest that they've been engaged all this time, so no one really listens to her...
For the most part it should be an uncomplicated alternate reality - a little silly, perhaps, and after the fact characters might find it hard to believe there was any logic to it all, but for the sake of simplicity feel free to just go "awizard Shifter did it" and roll with it. :|b
Much like last year, you have some freedom about how these pairings can be played out. Here's the options/explanations from last time:
Love At First Sight: Characters A and B talk on the journals or in person, fall in love, everything's coming up roses. Easy. (Note that, in this scenario, the trigger only works if neither A nor B has already fallen for someone else.)
Always In Love: Characters A and B, when they fall in love via the mechanism explained above, believe they have always been in love, and just not realized it until this very magical moment!
Lost The Spark: Characters A and B fall in love, believe they have in fact always been in love... but it's been too long. The spark is gone, the love has faded, and now all they can do is fight over practically nothing. Characters do NOT need to have ever interacted before to use this option!
Existing Love Amped to Eleven: Characters already in love can suddenly become the most ridiculously sappy love-dove fools in the world.
Soap Opera Love Triangles: A delightful threesome (Characters A, B, and C are all in love together) or unrequited love (Characters A and B are in love, Character C loves one or both yet is unloved by either).
That Big One-Day Lovefest
Again, like last year and the year before, a single day has been set aside for some extra-fun festivities. That day will be Saturday the 18th, and a log will be posted for it. On that day characters and couples may inexplicably be drawn (or even directly teleported!) to the beach, where they'll find that the weather is beautiful: warm, sunny, and fresh as a mild summer day.
The beach has become peppered with palm trees, but rather than coconuts, they're growing a star-shaped fruit that some characters might find a little familiar. And much like last year, the fruit may seem almost irresistable, giving characters the urge to share with someone - anyone who might be nearby, regardless of the character effects already in place- in other words, even if your character loves another, they can still hook up with someone random for a bit of fruity fun. Depending on the ripeness and flavour of the fruit, it may have a varying effect:
Mild/Nearly Ripe = sudden, fruit-inspired friendship! Characters feel the urge to spend some time together, hang out, get to know one another. Even if they didn't know one another beforehand. Even if they hated each other.
Sweet = innocent puppy love! Awkward hand-holding, cheek-kisses, long and romantic walks on the beach. Just kids being cute kids in love.
Perfect = true, passionate love. You want to hold them, to kiss them, to be with that person forever. Or at least until tomorrow.
Sour = ....hi, hormones. Suddenly finding a nice, quiet place to getnaked to know one another would be great. Your place or mine?
Characters affected by the fruit might need or want to find a place to hang out, have fun, or get fuzzy with one another, and Luceti is more than happy to supply a place for them! For the duration of that day (and the next, for those... waking up) the mountainside will be decorated with cozy, private hobbit holes, each one styled for different activities. Maybe one will be a game room, or a cozy lounge area to hang out. One could be decorated with furniture and food for a romantic dinner for two. One could be full of couches for those delicious makeout sessions. And one could look something like this. What room will your characters get? Who knows...
The fruit's effect can last as long or as short as you want, depending on the strength of the flavour and how much they eat. For example, if you want characters to get awkwardly frisky but not go all the way, the fruit's effects can wear off before anything happens.
The hobbit holes will be gone by the end of the event- if characters are still inside it when it ends, it will lock once they leave and be Shifted away shortly after. The trees, too, will be gone.
A Few Final Notes
As usual, this event is optional. Characters can be unaffected if you so choose, left to shake their heads at the silliness of their friends, or they can join in.
Feel free to mix and match your options as much as you like, or to change things later on in the event period (such as choosing "Always In Love" and then switching to "Lost the Spark" partway through).
Due to the fact that Luceti isn't a sex game, if you decide to go all-out with the paopu fruit section of the event and want to play out the sex rather than a fade-to-black, please keep it in character entries (clearly marked) or, if it starts on a log, move it to an appointment post. We're fine with it being played out! We'd just like to keep the log ratings down for the sake of everyone. Thanks!
Don't forget the dates: February 12th to the 18th. Feel free to use this entry to plot, discuss, and ask questions. And have fun!

no subject
He's the quiet/sentimental type and will totally treat all the ladies courteously. Get the door, get the seat, share his coat, buy your drink, etc!
Possible plots~ (Don't reply to this one so I can edit!) + notes
Note: Most of his more intimate relationships have ended badly. (All his girlfriends die. :|) This causes Jigen to be very cautious when letting himself become emotionally attached to women. So, if you're interested in anything long term, give me a message via plurk or AIM and we can plot further~
Plots: None so far. /foreveralone
