Interrogation

Want to press the survivors for details? Your character will get punished and may not be able to glean too much from them, but post your questions here and I'll give you the answers. Please note that if your characters simply ask, survivors won't give up any information willingly. So only being forceful will make them surrender any information.

If you'd like to do that, you can post here what questions your characters would try to get answered. That interaction won't be threaded out, but what they will answer will be provided here.

Okay, no, I'm being silly. I have no questions of this sort to ask, as Fenimore wouldn't do more than ask in a casual manner, but I did want to take a moment to thank you for this! It is a very nice touch to include and I appreciate the extra work.

I was wondering more along the lines of information slips, or casual words/slang that might be tossed about. Like Specialist Davis used the terms Sparties and Baskers, etc. Do they know what those are or are they clueless?

Or another example: you say they'd mention a fine, but would they say what the currency is? Like a $500 fine, or ten thousand yen. Or some name for money that's a bird pun.

tl;dr: any useless but interesting tidbits to glean just by listening to them talk?

That kind of stuff would be freebies, yeah. If someone was to ask about the above terms:

Sparties - shorthand for the cultists, but not the official name for the organization. (Earth people would probably realize its short for Spartans)
Baskers - shorthand for Shift Hunters. A nickname they earned from a comparison to the "Hound of Baskervilles" from Earth literature.

They use credits! It's a big fine. Let's say 10,000 credits. Which is implied to be enough to cripple any one of them.

Aside from that, I remember reading on the initial sign-up that some of the survivors would be resisting the urge to ask stuff too. Shikamaru wouldn't volunteer anything useful about himself or the enclosure, but out of curiosity (and for any other character who might be less tight-lipped) if that happened, what kind of questions would the Luceti team be getting? If any.

Mostly nothing. Maybe asked the name of their enclosure. If it's true they fought off an invasion. And if it's true that they've only ever lost one battle. Mostly things pertaining to their reputation earned from efforts outside the barrier, but not specifics.

Masaomi would be asking several of them, particularly women, jovial things about who their families are or what they're planning to do when they get out of here or what they think of Davis or other things of that nature. If they're all tight lipped about just that much, he wouldn't see a need to press further given the wide myriad of other things he has to do.

If any of them do start to answer things like that though then he'll press on with slightly more personal things, like asking where they live and what it's like. If it's in a barrier or not, what the weather there is like, etc. Interpersonal things about their non-work lives.

Expect non-specific things. The sort of things people might volunteer to a stranger, but not enough to track them down with. No names. Just vague mentions to parents, kids, their job, and stuff like that.

None of them will know anything about Davis, pressed or otherwise.

O...Kay then I don't think he'll even get to the second round or need to press other than on day two he'll be asking a lot of them "does it always rain that [referring to yesterday] much out here? I thought you guys could control the weather?" or something like that. Won't be pressing it, but he'll be asking it a lot. Any answers or snuffs to be expected from that?

To the second? No answer.

Lots of soothing and quiet, friendly, harmless small talk will be followed by a riddle-me-this: "So what's the longest you've known anyone to be trapped on this planet?"
