Aaaah, snap, and I'm working an extra shift tomorrow...! Sorry, guys, I'm gonna be slow initially.

So, uh, even though Grune is listed as a caretaker, she's gonna occasionally need someone to corral her so she doesn't wander off or get off-task. Fenimore's already down for that duty, but anyone else want to get in on it?

Rei/Mars and Grune haven't met yet, but...I think Mars would be willing and happy to poke Grune and make sure she stays on task, and keep an eye on her. She has to do it all the time for Usagi anyway...so...she's pretty good at it.

And it could be fun, since Grune will probably forget all about it.

After talking and getting permission from the mods, Doyle'll be going to the mission straight away from a mallynap, so he'll slowly develop a mallynap effect while he's stuck there. Luckily he'll be more keen to sniping for people, so he won't be around y'all that much except to help from a mysterious distance.

His mallynap effect is basically that a phantom heat surrounds him and being within a certain amount of feet will give ya' the sensation of being very hot. The closer you get, the worse it is, and touching him is like touching a hot stove (just without actual injury). So. Ya'll just work and do your own thing.

But! He'll keep in contact via journals. For info and stuff. And people'll be able to run into him, but he'll probably tell them now's not a good time for casual face-to-face conversation. :|

That said, any plotting around or about this is groovy with me, including someone to meet him and make him realize he has something up with him.

Yo. I've been fairly slow lately, but I'll put the mission tags at top priority to mitigate that.

Fenimore worked at a battlefield triage tent (Wikipedia searching suggests this means determining the severity of injuries to know how to split up medical supplies/doctor attention, but in the game it seemed to also function as a rest area), so she'll be available if the doctors/healers (or anyone, really) need a gopher of sorts. But otherwise she can keep herself busy with background stuff, like food preparation, clothing repair, and the like. Generally, she can be expected to handle herself and follow directions, though she gets testy under stress.

She's also experienced in the art of keeping Grune occasionally on task and mostly out of trouble, but she won't be able to manage this all the time. Her lapses will be left up to the rest of you, so head up to Grune's comment for that sort of thing. She can be called upon to corral her if necessary.

If things go pear-shaped for whatever reason, like due to the Shift Hunters, she has learned some self-defence, but she feels like "not looking like a threat" is her best defence. So she mightn't bring her sword, she's likely to hide her combat fans, and she probably won't display that she can defend herself at all unless she gets into a tight corner. As such, this mightn't even come up, but it might be worth noting.

Also in the "may not come up unless things go pear shaped" category, Fenimore can breathe underwater and swim better than the average human even in a dress, though she will be against volunteering this information outside of something vague like "I'm a good swimmer." (She might tell Minato if the chips are down and Grune is aware of it, but outside of a passing familiarity with some of them she doesn't know most of them to trust them.) Humans in her world tend to react badly to her nonhuman status, to put it mildly. But if things go pear-shaped in a floody sort of way, she can probably be counted on fairly well.

Off tomorrow, working friday evening so will be slow then, BUT.

Adele is. A surgeon. Straight up trauma's her specialty. She'll be spending her time manning the medic tents, keeping people alive or patching up injuries as they come in.

If there's combat- she's more likely to run and hide unless she's got patients to protect. Then she'll do something stupid to keep them safe, most likely.

+1 Beastly Soldier here--Viral. Uh...he's gonna be really good at his job, and really bad at interacting with so many humans a once. Fortunately many of the people on this mission are warriors of one school or another. This itself shall keep things smooth.

He has extensive experience in this sort of thing, being a wilderness resident by nature. He's also become very good at helping humans in the face of tragedy. This will be nothing really new to him.

If things go really wacky, he's quite strong physically and an agile swimmer. He's a genetic hybrid of feline and shark DNA. Go figure. He's also experienced with multiple forms of weaponry, and knows all of those cool survivalist things.

So, if you want to go traipsing through the wreckage, or you just want a strong warrior at your back, he's here for the plottage. :3

Also, I currently have relatives in town and will be a little slowaitused. I'll hit the tags when I'm able, and would love to backtag this for as long as it takes. This boy needs the CR, and its gonna be difficult for him to get it otherwise.

Okay, that's not going to actually happen since Fenimore would never admit this about herself, but I thought it was funny to think about. If enough wackyness occurs to require all of the swimming experts, she might be helping with that swimming thing, though.

Gregor is going to be around, but he's pretty shy and hard to read, so if anyone wants to sit him down and make him vent a bit about how disturbing this is, that would be great. He hasn't really seen a lot of ugliness in his life, at least not in this sense.

...you know what's funny? A few people have all ready used Viral as their personal...counselor. Oddly. He's terrible at it, but he also is bluntly honest. If the two happen to meet...?

... this is totally the best way to get Gai involved in things here hahaha. ANYWAY in canon Gai is... a terrorist leader, basically. He runs a resistance organization that fights against the GHQ and he does a lot of the mission-leading himself so this is pretty much the standard order of business for him.

He has absolutely no magical or supernatural abilities but he is a highly-skilled martial artist and experienced with various types of weaponry as well. ... he also has balls of steel so if there's crazy, reckless stuff that needs doing, he'll be all up for that.

Raine's fairly versatile when it comes to medicinal/doctoring/healing, so if they set up a system between them they should be good. The flood situation will freak her out a bit but she's fairly good at prioritizing her work and duties when it really comes down to it. CR in the know might pick up on any unsettledness.

She would be wary of people using too much of the filial magic in case it brings Shift hunters down on them, but it also depends on the severity of some of the injuries; they might not have a choice in some cases.

I figure the severity of the injury would dictate who ends up treating them. The worst of it would probably be best sent to Adele since trauma's what she knows best, and using non-magical means of healing for those injuries would have less risk of shift hunters finding and making the medics dead.

He's signed up as a survivalist here. But Leo's pretty versatile. He's a skilled martial artist, been training for 10+ years in Ninjutsu. He's a good leader, and strategist, but he's also not above taking orders either along with giving them. He could give the guards an extra set of hands if they need it.

He's also a strong swimmer, and can stay under water for 30+ minutes at a time, in case we need underwater searchers. He knows earth, water, light and healing filial magic. But he'll probably hold off unless they're needed.

FIRST MISSION YEAAAH.

Okay so! Sion here is going to be one of the doctors for this mission.

In canon he technically isn't a doctor and never even studied to become one (he was in the ecology major before he was forced to drop out) but he's a very good substitute for one. Think of what a normal doctor can do and Sion can do it; stitching, dressing, and cleaning wounds plus he can do small surgeries if the situation calls for one. He doesn't know filial healing magic though!

For the most part, during the mission, Sion will be in the medics tent helping and patching up any of the injured that come in. If any kind of fight breaks out, he will willingly run out into the middle of it and grab whoever's down to help them. Or if he's taking care of someone in the tent, he'll protect them with his life.

Sweet, a non-magical doctor Adele can comfortably work alongside. A two man technical tag team!

16-year-old girl who was a competitor in a single-winner-battle-to-the-death "Game" where she's from, here as a guard.

Clove will try really hard to be social because... where she's from, you stay alive (initially) by making a pack and holding alliances. But once she's in a fight... carnage and bloodlust and a little bit of showmanship will seriously come out.

I would love to get some plotting going.

I'd like to continue building what they started before, though...Rei will be more "Mars" for the duration. She'll recognize Clove and be willing to help her, also...watch her and see how things go.

Ok yay, Rei got in! I...don't think she's met anyone on the mission save Leonardo, Adele, and Clove. So...I would like for her to interact with as many people as are willing. She's new to the game still and hasn't branched out much because of her personality.

Rei will probably spend the entire mission in her Mars form, as its just better that way, in case something bad happens. If something does, she's a passable martial artist even without her senshi magic, and will definitely be carrying a bow, so she's not defenseless without her magic.

As far as her actual duties, assuming nothing bad happens, she's a decent cook, has a fairly commanding presence and like her friends is pretty good at directing civilians. She's got a strong knack for group tactics, particularly organization, and will in general be willing to help and take direction in any way possible.

Again, she's got very little CR because she's more guarded than the other senshi, so I *really* would like for her to at least meet and chat with most of the people on the mission.

I'll be out for most of the day on Friday, but I'll be around the rest of the time, and I'm *always* willing to backtag.

We could try to get something with them, although I have no idea what it will be until after we get more details. With her as Mars and Viral actually semi willing to cooperate, this should be a good chance. :3

Masaomi's on as a caretaker but in all due honesty he'll just be following the orders/lead of whoever else. He's a surprisingly strong older teenager with no real powers just there to do lifting, carry people out, set up things and assist as is needed]

Shikamaru's going to be a survivalist, and will thus likely be working with other survivalists a lot, I think? On the mission he'll be professional and tactical, but still easy-going with the civilians they're helping out. He's a ninja, and even without crazy shonen powers this is pretty much his kind of gig. And Neji and Kiba's.

...lmao. I like how half the survivalists are ninjas, counting Leo in there.

Hey, You and Kiba-mun were the ones I was hoping to see. Viral here is also a survivalist, with a lot of experience in this sort of thing. He's no ninja, but he can hold his own damn well.

I was hoping for a tag-team thread doing survivalist fun things, so a little pow-wow might be in order once we learn the exact deets of what we're dealing with.

Minato here is a caretaker! He can cook and that sort of thing, but he's also good at listening to people and getting them to calm down. So if there are hysterical NPCs or player characters, he might be able to help out. He has some magical healing skills as well, if those are available.

Anyway, he'll be taking his job pretty seriously, but this is his first mission. So he's going to be pretty weird about protecting all these other people.

'Sup. This is Kiba, one of those headstrong, confident types of people that may or may not get on your nerves depending how he rubs you. He'll be coming in along with his awesome ninja dog/transportation, Akamaru, as a survivalist. He's a ninja, so he's pretty much at home here, and probably is about as chill with the whole thing as most anyone could be. He also specializes in tracking, which will likely come in handy during the 10% of the time powers work.

Smoker will be generally antisocial and going off on his own (and no one was surprised) but if anyone needs help he'll be around, and he'd be interested in the radio thing previously discussed, etc.

Also he can't swim (even with his devil fruit not working) so if he reaches an area still too flooded, he'll come back and not be so antisocial...ish. Anyways, open for ideas.

Hey, survivalist Precis here! She doesn't have her robots, but she's kind of a do-it-all girl! She's used to harsh environments, but not really torrential downpours. She can mix herbs, though, and detect enemies pretty well. She'll be missing her machines, but will be working her hardest without complaint...for the most part!

Does anyone want to plot with her? I'm a bit late, though.

Want to press the survivors for details? Your character will get punished and may not be able to glean too much from them, but post your questions here and I'll give you the answers. Please note that if your characters simply ask, survivors won't give up any information willingly. So only being forceful will make them surrender any information.

If you'd like to do that, you can post here what questions your characters would try to get answered. That interaction won't be threaded out, but what they will answer will be provided here.

Okay, no, I'm being silly. I have no questions of this sort to ask, as Fenimore wouldn't do more than ask in a casual manner, but I did want to take a moment to thank you for this! It is a very nice touch to include and I appreciate the extra work.

HEY HEY SURVIVALIST PARTY OVER HERE

YO GUYS. So I ran into a lot of conferring above about what the eight of us might want to do? Now that we know the task they have, we should be able to work something out.

So here's what we're working with:

Survivors
-Most are on the roof of the (flooded) hotel
-Eighteen are unaccounted for
--Five of this number are already dead

Stark (Viral's mun) mentioned that it'd be cool for the survivalists to pair into tag teams of two to search. I'm all for this, though I don't know about the rest of you. I know CC mentioned Smoker will be wanting to do things on his own at first before getting roped in to working with people.

In regard to the tag teams, I don't think we have to have a set buddy system. There'd probably be an order, but not one we need to talk out, I think. So feel free to switch up survivalist partners.

But if everyone's for that, I kinda had an idea here of how to work things out:

Day 1
- Four (or more) survivalists work from the nearby cliffs and trees to rescue the people on the roof
- The remainder work on tracking down the Missing 18 in the wilderness
- The rest of the group starts on that after the hotel survivors are dropped off at camp

note: with the weather, I imagine many of the survivalists could get stuck out there overnight, if anyone wants to play with that (like me >>)

Day 2
- More searching for the Missing 18**
- Survivalists near camp after most of the civilians have been rescued should probably split off to do some hunting for everyone, with the ruined supplies

Day 3
- Assisting where needed.
- CULTISTS
- DO WHAT YOU WANT PRETTY MUCH

**From the sound of the log, most if not all of these survivors should be rescued by the second day. No later than the morning of Day 3, if some of you want your character to be away from the base for the morning cultist attack, which is cool. Just figured we should be on the same page about when they're done.

Other stuff:
- There will be radios. For now I'm assuming they work, but I asked the mods if Shifts would take them out so don't bank on that just yet.
- During the 10% gap where abilities do work, I know Neji can spot survivors with his special vision and Kiba can track them. All the Naruto ninja can walk on water too. And I saw Viral is a good swimmer (plus half-shark?). Let me know if anyone can do anything else specifically well-suited here.

OKAY. Reading all of this, I think Precis will be like this?

Day 1:
She'll be in the wilderness doing search and rescue.

Day 2:
Again, in the wilderness. After they've found the 18 (or what's left of them?), she won't be hunting. Precis will be collecting edible plants and compounding them. Basically, she'll be looking for herbs and flowers she can grind or drain or press or cook to make medicine or relief supplies from. She'll probably find something to work with, right? I'll ask.

Day 3:
Assisting where needed. She's going to be useless in battle without her machines, so she'll be guiding civilians or whatnot. She may need to be guarded, if anyone wants to play with that? That said, she is hotheaded enough to try and attack a cultist if someone else is in danger. She will likely use a wrench. That might be fun to thread out, too.

So if anyone wants to do anything with her, pair up with her...let me know?
