Mod Application
That time has come once more. Do you have the raw nerves to be a mod at Luceti!?
Because WE want YOU (or maybe you) for the Luceti mod team!
The Position Offered: Plot and Applications mod. What we’re really looking for here is someone to assist with events and plot in Luceti. This means you’ll be in the trenches coming up with new events, shaping the storyline, create new missions, and even playing NPCs. This will be the chosen mod’s biggest responsibility. So what you’ll need is lots of energy, plenty of creativity, as well as the time to dedicate to such endeavours. This is not a position for people without the time to put into the job. Setting up events, missions, and NPC posts are all demanding duties. You won’t be all alone in this job, though! You’ll be working with the other mods in creating these things.
Since this is essentially a full mod position, we’ll ask you to take on the other basic moderating duties. That means approving applications, sometimes maintaining our different pages, and things of that nature. You should also have Plurk, since we do a lot of our coordination there. You should also be able to use Google docs, as we use that when collaborating on plotting.
So... you still want to app? Really? Well, if you say so...
WHAT WE WILL KEEP IN MIND WHEN JUDGING MOD APPLICATIONS
If you’re still interested, then great! Then by all means, go ahead and apply! Please fill out the form below and reply to this post. All comments are screened and we'll be contacting the selected candidate directly, so this post is purely for submissions and will remain screened. The deadline for submission is NEXT THURSDAY, 11:59 PM EST. That's the 1st for people keeping score at home.
And that's it! If you do apply, we appreciate the effort! We really consider this a favor on our behalf and the rest of the game, so thank you for being willing to put that much effort into keeping the RP running smoothly. So really, if this is something you are putting the effort into (or at least want to), then that makes you cool people.
ONE LAST THING. If for some reason we aren't able to pick a suitable candidate for the moderator position, we may choose not to select anyone. If this is the case and you were an applicant, don't take this as a personal slight. There's several considerations we will be taking into account. In the unlikely event that happens, it would be better for us to keep things the way they are.

WHAT WE WILL KEEP IN MIND WHEN JUDGING MOD APPLICATIONS
- Integrity. The unfortunate side effect of being in DWRP is that there is a strong culture of wank perpetuated by being anonymous in outside communities. We have no way of policing that, but we want mods who won't contribute to this kind of behavior. If we know that you're someone who is prone to stirring things up with anonymous comments, we're likely not going to consider you for a position.
- Activity. This goes without saying, but if you have to struggle desperately to meet AC requirements we're gonna assume you don't have enough time to do any kind of mod work. Even if you are good with your activity, please don't apply unless you have the time and energy to actually contribute. We're hoping to recruit someone who will do more than give us a cool new mod icon. Keep in mind that NPC posts get very busy. You should be someone who can put out a lot of tags and follow through with them. If you frequently drop threads with your main characters, then we can’t expect much out of you when playing an NPC.
- Personality. Part of being a mod is being confident and having some good common sense. If you're getting bashed on the anon comms or having secrets written about you? We're looking for someone who will take it in stride. Troll bait? We want someone who knows just to ignore it. This doesn't mean we're looking for someone arrogant and boastful, just someone who is willing to talk to us about stuff and not be too shy to actually get things done. When we’re plotting, it’s good to have different perspectives on how things are shaping up. The more discussed an event is, the better it will be in the end.
- Lastability. What we’re looking for is someone who has been in the game for a while and isn’t just going to up and vanish a few months in. There is no magic number of time that serves as a cut off period for being considered too new. In fact, there’s advantages and disadvantages to both an older player and a newer player. So while this may be something we consider, it’s not necessarily a deciding factor.
- Ability. When it comes right down to it, being able to do basic HTML work with links and tables and images is just the name of the game. If you want to do this, we want you to already know how to work with all this stuff. Beyond just knowing HTML, being a bit intuitive on how to speed up your work can be very useful in making your job that much easier.
- Knowledge. You should have an understanding of what the plot in the game is so far. While we don’t expect you to remember everything or have been present for everything, you should be able to pick up on the general ongoing storyline so far. If you find that you had no idea that there the kidnappings are done by Rogue Malnosso, then you probably haven’t been paying too much attention to the plot. But if you’re chosen, you’ll be filled in on the story so far and details not yet revealed. Keep this in mind if you do apply, since you have to be careful about not metagaming with your regular characters.
