Sorry for taking a few days on this, your novel required a novel reply |D; (and discussion of a group sort)

1, 2, & 3) Rough timeline would have specific goings-on in town starting on the 1st of November and onwards, giving people a good week or so ICly wander around the area. (We will have more details on Sunday/Monday for that as well as the mission itself.) With fliers and magic users available and the potential for Leon's teleport machines to be set up for the use of this plot, people should be able to get back in a hurry if it's plotted out right. (Speaking for myself, Billy is a teleporter who can zap people willy-nilly with no power cap, and I know he's not the only one. There's options to return to town.)

For transportation itself, there will be a lot of slow travel required, unfortunately, because the priority is given to the mission itself. However, it turns out that the Filial rebellion has a secret stash of ATVs due to the lack of widespred teleportation technology, so people are free to make use of that. There's still an awful lot of forest between you and anything interesting, but at the very least people can get a feel for how big the world is. A couple of ocean harbours exist as well, big enough to carry groups across the water, though you may want to coordinate.

A map for the surrounding area will be provided in the next info dump, as well as descriptions of what exists in each direction. Characters who can travel quickly over large distances should probably give us an idea of how fast they can fly and how far they'd go from town so we know what kind of terrain they'd see en route. Most of the residents are exactly that, just residents, so they wouldn't really be any more helpful with providing a map as your typical player character would be.

4) If questioned about such comments, NPCs would clarify with some discomfort that they used to have a good working relationship with a certain group of residents of the world, and that back then the barriers weren't necessary. Details are sketchy; seems like it isn't something they like to talk about, and their tone of voice would imply that it involved losses of some kind. For the record, NPCs who know of this would be long-term residents of the world.

5 & 6) None of those names would be recognized by the residents or any NPCs aside from Romaeus. (This includes Jacob.) Actually, a couple of the names are common enough that NPCs might know of someone, but it won't be the ones you're thinking of. At this time there is no one using the rank of commandant in Luceti.

7) Access to the tunnels inside the town hall is available to characters... within reason. If people wander in there and start messing around with the scientists trying to get work done and blow something up they'd get their butts escorted out, but some rooms will be open for poking around and the hallway is certainly accessible, including The Wall (you know what I mean). If you've got more questions, fire away.

8) The main meeting will have it's own NPC post explaining everything in full detail; this will be posted (as mentioned in #1) on Sunday/Monday. We super-apologize for the lag on this one; my hiatus and a really clumsy miscommunication on my part led to some confusion on what was happening and who was doing what, so we are hashing out the nitpicky details before everything goes live. Please bear with us for a couple more days!
