Sup guys! Results from the Activity Check are in!
Please note that the following characters were either inactive, didn't post to the activity check, or failed to speak to a moderator about their activity. Also added were characters who have dropped, for your convenience.
Copy-paste here.
A number of you passed the activity check, but barely. (You know who you are.) Try to pick things up, as it's no fun to character-squat.
If there are any mistakes here, please let us know! Additionally, if your character was removed and you're still active, feel free to appeal to one of us about keeping your character. However, there are no guarantees, and if we do let you pass, please remember next time to stay active and post to the Activity Check.
And as always:
HMD
How's My Driving?
This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!
Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.

(Anonymous) 2010-08-23 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)Involving this, I've noticed a couple of characters who barely post, and/or posted just to get past the AC. Will you actively keep up with this for the next AC check, to see if they do it again?
aka: doing the bare minimum for the AC and barely getting around besides.
As for the game, I loved this month of plot!

... edited because that was repetitive and I just had to fix it. :|a

(Anonymous) 2010-08-23 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)I only brought it up because it happened with a character I would personally like to play (had they been AC'ed out), and I've noticed it's been a lil recurrent.
I didn't want to be forward in saying this, but thanks for the reply ^^.

(Anonymous) 2010-08-23 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)Mods are supposed to set an example for old players and new players alike in a game, and one of your mods is doing just the opposite. Whether he was joking or not, I honestly don't care, the way he said this was incredibly rude and uncalled for and would be taken the wrong way anyway. Here:
http://community.livejournal.com/lucetiooc/1202575.html?thread=33201295#t33201295
I only bring this here because, as mods, this shouldn't be the kind of behavior they have toward their players. I really wonder how Bang!mun felt when he read that. "Well, looks like my ship can happen now that you're gone! SEE YA!" I only bring this here rather than his HMD because it's one thing for him as a player to say this, but he's a mod. Shouldn't he be more tactful about this? Yes, I am not the only player in this game that had the same reaction to it. In fact, I'm sure there are others.
I'm trying to be as constructive about this as much as I can but just please, for the love of god, don't let this happen again.

(Anonymous) 2010-08-23 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)Granted, even if it is an inside joke, other muns who don't know about it won't see it that way and still suffer from a "... What" response. It is about example setting, yes, but if it's an inside joke then at least Bang-mun wouldn't have been insulted.

Going with that, I've started refraining from sad farewells when someone drops a character. Having dropped a few myself, I personally always feel guilty to see all the people begging for me to stay or saying how much they'll miss the character. So I try to keep from doing that, especially if the player is staying on with other characters still.
That said, I can see where you're coming from. Taken out of context, it does look pretty blunt and callous. I'm not sure if SM took it the right way or not, since I haven't talked to him lately. I'll have to find out.

I can see where you're coming from, but that feeling of guilt is a good thing. It lets you know that you've played the character well and your efforts have been recieved an appreciated.
There's an old saying about not being able to say anything nice. You are a mod, you will come under fire for things like this. Even just including something in strike text about how you would miss the love triangle would've completely changed the entire post to the outside audience. Just remember that not everybody understands your connection to the mun in question, or that it was meant as a joke. You said you speak off-hand with SM, so it would've been better to leave a comment like that in an AIM chat.
You know? Common courtesy. Sorry if I've TL:DR'd or come across as attacking you that's not my intention at all! You always come across as being a joking fun mod (look at the reserves announcement!) but jokes can backfire.

I am used to joking around with groups where I do know everyone and tend to have a reputation for never being serious. And honestly, I do try to get to know as many people in Luceti as I can. But there's too many people for me to know everyone, so I'll try to keep this in mind for the future.
