How's My Driving?

This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!

Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.

ALSO ALSO: We'd like to clarify that HMD means HMD- which means it's okay to have both good and bad crit. Some people have expressed concerns about posting good/bad crit when a character already has bad/good crit posted. We'd like to encourage you guys to do it anyway! You can drive well or badly, and even good drivers make mistakes. So give it a try \o

Okay, for one-- I've been having to come up with compliments for like, more than a year on your Sokka, dude. Which speaks to the fact that you are doing more than aping a voice.

But I have also really enjoyed following Jack and Bowser. I have only glanced over Fables, but props for playing an asshole who is still tolerable to read. Ditto Bowser-- he is like, loveable the way you think a bratty kid is loveable until they do something just obnoxious enough to cross the line and make you all "ugh where is that kids parents".

....That is my totally thoughtful crit at this hour that is past my bedtime.

You are like a roleplaying god. I'm just going to say it.

How in the WORLD you stay so active so consistently with this many characters, and with not just TAGS but interesting, thought-and-word-combined tags, is beyond me. If I had crit, I would give it to you just out of respect. But I don't. 8| All of your voices are not only IC but creative, your OC is hilarious and fun to follow, and I just need more CR with ALL of them.

I am so glad I had Ginko run into Wolfwood in the rain, is all I have to say about that.

I came down with a couple of nasty sinus infections over the past couple of months and my activity took a hit from that, but I've been trying to step it up recently now that I'm feeling somewhat better. (And yes, I'm still getting to backtags as well.)

All right. Let's do this.

First up, I'm going to reference to the crit I left you on your personal HMD two months ago. I pointed out that you seem to have troubles balancing your characters. That Richard is very active, but the others are hardly ever around. I told you that slowatuses will keep coming and going, and that this is a trend I've noticed over the past half year. A trend which is getting worse. I suggested that unless you find a way to divide your activity between your characters, you should consider dropping one or two of them. From what I'd gotten of your response, you basically brushed the concerns off as nothing.

It's now two months later. You dropped Alan, but I'm sure you only went through with it because Lunare dropped Alice. You failed to reach the necessary activity with Regal and Arumat during the last AC. In fact, Regal didn't even have half of the necessary comments. LJ was down and you were sick, yes, but the LJ fail was only about a week out of the entire AC month. Richard had roughly four times the necessary comments, if not more, which proves you were around and tagging. Now you are once again considering applying for a new fifth character. You're promising to improve your activity, but that also isn't new. That's something you seem to say every time the HMD rolls around, but then something else comes up anyway.

Please, Luna. I am begging you to take a look at what you're doing, here. Please stop brushing concerns from your canonmates off. Take a step back and ask yourself: "Can I handle a new character? How will this affect my other characters? Am I still having fun playing Regal and Arumat?"


I'm not trying to force you into dropping. Quite the opposite. This is a decision you need to make for yourself and definitely something to work on. I would love to see your other characters around more, because lord knows I adore them, but at the moment I have an invisible castmate/fiancée and this is making me very uncomfortable. Something needs to be done and there are two paths for you to take, so be sure to choose wisely, all right? I'll support whichever decision you make. And if you want to discuss this in private, you know where to find me.

Does it need to be said how much I love Fenimore? Seriously, I've been missing her like crazy during your hiatus. I'm eagerly awaiting her full return. And getting to tag with kid Feni too.

I'm always impressed by the depth you put into how much you put into her. I wish I could even begin to think that deeply about my character's own action, but I like tagging off of you because it usually makes me think more about what Sokka is doing, which naturally is something I like to do. So I can't even crit you for not being a speedy tagger, because it's usually worth the wait.
