You are welcome to subscribe or track the journal, but this is not required, as updates will be posted on this journal. The information post has been emptied and may be now used as an "appointments post" for contacting CJ or his staff with questions or requests related to missions and rewards. For those of you who don't know about missions, the links below should help you out. I suggest you start with the Mission FAQ first!

OOC: Mission Suggestions | Mission FAQ | Nitpicker's Guide: In-Depth Information
IC: Malnosso Information Post | Recurring Missions | Unique Missions | CJ's Announcement

Feel free to discuss and ask questions here! You may use this as a plotting post for the upcoming mission as well.

I knew I should have spent more time reading the urban combat field manual.

Hey Daisy. How do you feel about workin' with your CO on this op? XD
daisy023: (Hello)

[personal profile] daisy023 2012-05-15 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Count on it. I was writing another report and thinking of having her lead a few organization efforts; and after that, take a sniper position before shit goes down and eventually join Adell and the rest.

Thought of having either of them at risk at one point (or the two of them), but did you have other ideas?
vulcanblazer: (Courage)

[personal profile] vulcanblazer 2012-05-15 10:38 am (UTC)(link)
Well, the best way to put Adell at risk in this situation is a Shifter disabling natural powers. Of course... the best way to deal with this and having Daisy save his bacon is with a well placed sniper rifle round. The other good way to put him at risk is... Elites. Lots and lots of elites.

...And if we want to have him bail her out too, that works for me!
daisy023: (I am home)

[personal profile] daisy023 2012-05-16 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
Shifter coming in would be probably run a bit quicker: Her only issue would be spotting Adell and the Shifter, and calming the winds to kill it. Maybe as something preliminary before Elites rush in, and Daisy becomes forced to either fire away until her rifle empties and lets go of her post?

However, I do want to have her get in trouble: As noted in her guide, inside combat is dangerous as hell, and with both Third Party and powerhouses fighting in it, Daisy could probably risk herself and get stuck in a crumbling building after its' evacuated/destroyed, because of a lingering Elite/Shifter.

Wow, this looks like it should be fun, such a neat group. I'm definitely open to any plotting.

And since it likely will help, here is Leonhardt's abilities post for all the details.

To sum up, he's basically a very badass fighter, he's got the ability to create numerous shadows to help fight, has loads of magic, is fast, and just very good at fighting.

Also, since this is fighting the third party, do they have the option to request stuff that would normally be able to be requested in a draft (like weapons and vehicles programmed into the Battle Dome)?

LOL, figures like that. At least he's fine without all the badass extras, that's just icing on the cake really.

[personal profile] eyesofstrength 2012-05-15 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
By the way, forgot to mention something. His abilities are actually based on technology even though they look like magic. This could come in handy at times with Shifters, and one of his abilities also interrupts casting while doing damage and is ranged.

Ah but then you'd have to remember which missions you replied to once you started taking part in a few, I find it easier keeping all the links in one place myself (and people are using it for mallynap and draft records too, so I wouldn't quite say it's redundant yet).
folklorist: (Ever so curious)

Helios is probably gonna be going on the defensive as well as aiding in some offense too. So if anyone wants to plot anything that'll be cool! I kinda wanted him to get injured maybe on the last day.

[personal profile] screwthegods 2012-05-15 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh Helios. Your mun needs to stop making you a punching bag.

I've got no specific plans for Homura, but it'd be great if they could get some time together? I'm open to ideas. :)
folklorist: (Curiousity killed the cat you know?)

[personal profile] folklorist 2012-05-15 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
He's taking Giles' spot okay? At least I didn't have him die /shot

Ohhh yeah that'd be cool! I don't mind anything you have in mind. Perhaps just fighting alongside one another would be cool.

[personal profile] screwthegods 2012-05-15 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh huh. But I'm sure you were very tempted :P

That works for me! Especially since the few times he's spoken to Helios, he didn't entirely seem the on the battlefront type.

Are they being told outright that the place is flooded when they sign up?
markofthewise: (Default)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2012-05-14 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Even though this post is going up now, for the actual characters, they won't 'see' the message until just a few hours before the flood starts. In other words, they'll be getting called into action just as the flood is starting.
wise_maiden: (all of my confusion)

[personal profile] first_darkness 2012-05-15 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Hee, this looks like it'll be fun!

Saten is generally a purely offense type when it comes to fights, and she has very... interesting ideas on what constitutes "teamwork" and "cooperation", which might be something to play with (and they don't always involve the words "friendly fire"!). I'm up for all sorts of plottings!

... I should make a dedicated abilities post for her but basically she is very magic-y and can use darkness for everything from spontaneous generation of weapons to teleporting to healing. Also she has these two things.

screwthegods: (Default)

[personal profile] screwthegods 2012-05-15 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing too specific just yet, although Homura will note Saten's reply to Daisy's combat entry. I'm open to any ideas?
first_darkness: (D is for Darkness that sings you to bed)

[personal profile] first_darkness 2012-05-15 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Well, if he's using fire, that will catch her attention, since she's going to be heavily relying on shadows to keep her oriented and aware and fire has very distinct shadow patterns. At the very least, that will make her vaguely curious about what's up in Homura's general vicinity.
screwthegods: (Default)

[personal profile] screwthegods 2012-05-15 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely, not to mention the scale he can create. It can definitely draw attention. That works for me :)
halfremembered: (Walking on the air.)

[personal profile] halfremembered 2012-05-15 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
All right, so since we're plotting things...

First of all, here is where you can find the complete description of Aether's abilities. The short story is that he wields a transformable weapon that scales in power output according to the threat he's facing.

The second part is that ever since Estelle disappeared one month ago, Aether has been in a spectacularly foul mood. Although he's going on a mission for a good reason, he will use it as an excuse to vent some of his anger on the cultist.

What those two points mean in combination is that unless someone tries to reign Aether in, the area of thirty feet around him will be a constant bloodbath. He'll spare the innocent bystanders and obviously help out his teammates, but will otherwise focus on bringing down the opposition as quickly and mercilessly as possible.

So if anyone else on the mission would like to address that, either by keeping note of his abilities (his swords do require being called out by their true names, so his identity might be exposed on some level here) or by simply trying to talk some sense into him, feel free. He'll be relatively sociable, if cold and embittered, once he's convinced to stop hacking things.

Yaaaaay Luffy's first mission!

Um. There's really not a TON for me to say? Basically Luffy is a straight forward run-in-head first kinda guy. And his powers are pretty overpowered Shonen hero type. Especially after timeskip. He's basically a rubber man and as such a lot of his abilities can be sort of cartoony and a liiiiittle unrealistic. He can blow air into his thumb, giving his the arm and fist of a giant for example. He also is able to use "Gear Second" which is basically him using a part of his body (usually his legs) as a kind of blood pump to pump the blood through his body faster.

Since he's made of rubber, his heart doesn't explode from the large increase in blood pleasure and he's able to move at amazing speeds-- somewhere around the speed of sound-- for a limited amount of time. He naturally has incredible strength and stamina too because lol Shonen.

BUT YEAH THAT'S THE BASICS. There's other things but that's the gist of most of it I thinks!
screwthegods: (are you ready?)

[personal profile] screwthegods 2012-05-15 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Here's a list of Homura's abilities, to add to the growing pile. He's very much an offensive fighter, and used to fighting alone, as this way the way in his world. However, Homura can also fight as part of a team, and has led armies, both for the Heavens and as part of a personal rebellion. This mean's he's good for developing strategies of attack and such.

I'm open for anything! Since Homura can teleport, he can literally be almost anywhere at any given time. :|b

I know I'd like Homura and Leonhardt to actually meet after that anonymous thread they had and this seems like a good time.
screwthegods: (Default)

[personal profile] screwthegods 2012-05-15 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
That'd be cool! Since Leonhardt's abilities are tech based, and Homura's fall under magic, they could end up together via one bailing the other out, maybe?

Definitely up for it though. :)
eyesofstrength: (008)

[personal profile] eyesofstrength 2012-05-15 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and since they look magical that could totally cue some WTF reactions. He's got a nice ability to interrupt casting that I have a feeling will be very handy.

...I'm not sure if the village will still be standing when all of this is over.

Anyways, Goku's just ridiculous all around. Even without taking into account his ki abilities (which let him fly, teleport, shoot energy beams, and sense where people are), he's insanely strong, durable (getting shot doesn't faze him, and he kept fighting with a hole through most of his shoulder), and fast (thanks to him being used to higher levels of gravity). He doesn't tend to plan things out, usually because he doesn't need to. (for reference, he took out a whole army base when he was fourteen or so, simply by running in there and beating up everything that moved)

And none of that is taking into account his Super Saiyan forms, which amp things up even further. Still, those forms require ki - I'm thinking about having him be affected by a Shifter at one point, forcing him to rely on his experience rather than brute force. Beyond that, I'm open for any sort of plotting!

[personal profile] gomugomunopwn 2012-05-17 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh man, dude! Luffy and Goku definitely need to have some bro moments in this thing or something!

He's obviously not nearly as strong as Goku, but he's still a Shonen so Luffy can do some ridiculous things too as far as overwhelmingly bullcrap strength goes!
4starsavior: (wow that's neat!)

[personal profile] 4starsavior 2012-05-20 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds good! Maybe they could team up against one of those special Shifters that was mentioned in the log or something? (Sorry it took so long to get back to you - the past few days have been surprisingly busy) I figure that neither of them would have a whole lot of trouble against the initial waves, but those power-copying Shifters or the Elites could be a problem.
first_darkness: (D is for Darkness that sings you to bed)

[personal profile] first_darkness 2012-05-18 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
/what is being late

Don't know if people are still reading this, but. We've got three Shifters on steroids. Thoughts on divvying them up/plans to take them down? Given the copy powers (plus dampening? can they do both at once?), I'm guessing that no one will be able to take down one entirely on their own.
daisy023: (Keep low)

[personal profile] daisy023 2012-05-18 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
I see a few possibilities: Something I see, and that I remember reading from somewhere, is that the human body is not aerodynamic (though I assume cultists fly with a small variant of shifting?). So even if they've got super speed and the like, the huge wings would most likely be hindering to those guys - their weak spots.

On another, the team would require separating them from a hundred meters. Try to get them against an opponent that cannot survive thick bullets, and the one with the most range can take it out from beyond their copy range - so long as the shooter remains hidden.

Or, if somebody's crazy enough, he could hang from the wings of the damned thing and try to rip them off.

Which reminds me, who will be the one dropping the news that there's a new type of shifter among the cultists? Daisy has gotten her guesses that it was a trap meant to draw those of Region Six, but I want her to return napping everywhere after being awake and fighting for quite a while.
