Hmm. You know, that does make a good point. I get the feeling I dropped the ball back there in Ling's post--especially since she'd been so curious about Tali's culture in my playthrough of the first game, and talked with her about all sorts of things regarding what life on the Quarian flotilla was like. To elaborate--Tali's race, the quarians, aren't exactly well-loved. They were the creators of a sentient machine species called the Geth--which eventually drove them from their homeworld of Rannoch. Since the creation of these synthetics, the creation of AI of any sort was outlawed--this is the source of the Quarians' bad rep.
Yet despite this, Shepard, being Paragon and a woman genuinely curious about her crew and their homeworlds, talked to her anyway. Had a heated debate, sure, but it went okay in the end.
Still, will definitely watch myself better when playing Shepard. Thanks.
