How's My Driving?

This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!

Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.

ALSO: We'd like to clarify that HMD means HMD- which means it's okay to have both good and bad crit. Some people have expressed concerns about posting good/bad crit when a character already has bad/good crit posted. We'd like to encourage you guys to do it anyway! You can drive well or badly, and even good drivers make mistakes. So give it a try \o

This is less crit and more request, but would it be possible to move the resources/links directory so that it's easier to get to? Perhaps by making it a sticky post in the mod journal, or by putting it in the mod profile as it was on Livejournal?

Aaah, I know this is a tiny thing, but the extra click or two it takes to get to the resources/links becomes a chore over time. If there's a reason why it is the way it is, though, I'll be happy to abide by it.

I am not really good in the crit-thing and I'm still at the beginning of reading YA so please bear with me.

I can say that from what I've read and what I've played with you that Billy's kind and kind of insecure nature is shining through (I hope I got that right, he seems a bit insecure about himself sometimes) and that he is dealing with a lot of problems and tries to make the best out of it.

He's also the cutest dork.

I am really looking forward playing their bro-ness out and their magic shenaningans.

Okay no seriously. It's been a while since I've hit you up here! In some respects very little has changed - our CR is still just floating so most of my crit is all technical from afar.

I wanted to say though that I know you were bummed about tags and such until recently when you got your groove back. I'm really glad you did, and seem to have found a method to both keeps thing fresh and interesting for you, like with the memes, without bogging you down. I really hope that continues to go well for you.

If you're slow sometimes though, please don't worry. You have tons of characters plus NPC characters plus all the other tasks you do with modship. That's a lot of work, and frankly I still find it impressive you can juggle all of it at all.

Segueing to that mod stuff, I know a lot of it probably goes without much appreciation, so I'd also like to take this opportunity to once again say I really appreciate everything you bring to the table, Masa. Your contribution to the missions, between set-ups and NPCs, is always enjoyable and I even love the new weather calendar. Furthermore, I'm always thankful I can come to you with game stuff. You're reasonable and will hear people out, but fair-minded, and I can't say I've ever seen you make a bad call.

Tl;dr: don't be too hard on yourself, glad to see you've gotten some steam back, and I still as ever enjoy both having you as a mod and seeing your characters about.

HI BAYLEY, I DON'T HAVE A LOT TO SAY BUT I AM HITTING ALL THE HMD THINGS I WANT TO AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. 'SUP.

I don't have a lot of crit for you so much as to reiterate how much I love having CR with you? I don't know if I've ever said it, but it still amuses me so much that Tony Stark of all people is one of Shikamaru's most trusted and respected CR, all their snark aside. I have fun comparing their old conversations to the more recent ones and seeing that mutual shift. Thank you as always for making that so neat.

Our CR aside, I also continue to love how unique you make each of their characters. Back when I had more than one character, mine often had overlapping circles, but yours are very branched out and do their own things, and each contribute to the setting in their own little ways. They're very fleshed out, so I always commend you for that.

That out of the way, it's been really great having you here. Aang has been tons of fun, and you playing him has reminded me both of why I simultaneously love him so much and why he frustrates me at times -- which is to say you play both his strengths and flaws very well. And boy does his CR like to highlight the best and worst of those.

Going back to Lee, still still so happy he's going strong again. I hope to do more with him in the future, and continue to encourage you to get as crazy off-the-walls as you can with him, both to broaden his CR and to keep things fresh playing him for you. I don't think the latter is going to be a problem, because you've already shared with me some fun ideas. SQUIRRELS.

I can't say much about Kurt or Ralph yet, alas. Or at least nothing you haven't already heard me say about Ralph, lmao. I do however love hos distinctive the two of them have been from your last characters. They have a more defined presence so far, imo. Can't wait to see them develop further!

Hello Flynnface!

So, it has come to this. I think you have a seriously rounded roster and I'm quite jealous of your ability to play not only so many characters at once, but so many who are different even when they share a few core traits. It's pretty epic, let me tell you. Having Czes and Seto as strong CR has been such a pleasure. I love them.

That said, over the past two months (since the last HMD) and even before that, it's seemed more and more like this many characters are a lot for you. Just going by what you plurk about your game(s), life, characters, and so forth, you still really love everybody but it's a strain to keep them all...up, I guess. There could be a lot of reasons for that and late November/December in total are notorious for bringing about low RP motivation. I wouldn't have brought it up if I hadn't started noticing a general sense of strain of your time before that.

That said, I don't really know what to suggest you do with this information. You probably know all of this already and have ideas, come to think of it. As long as you're still having fun, at bottom, then it works for you dear.

Okay, now for the serious answer to how you are driving. ...Um, amazingly? I am canon-blind to everyone you play and yet they are so much fun and you do so well giving them a unique, memorable personality and (loud) voice that it's pretty much a given that I want mega CR with all of them. Handling a crazy extroverted roster and such diversity of archetype is rare. You're solid at it. I am unbelievably excited whenever we get to have a thread together and that says pretty much everything.
