Let's start at the very beginning...
Greetings, loved ones. We’ve got an announcement for you today, as well as an event! But first! Let’s see those friend add/removes.
Post these into the admin console! Got that taken care of? In the right journal? Cool, cool. Well done.
Moving right along! We have a fairly major announcement today regarding app cycles. We mods have discussed it, and we have decided that starting in October, apps will be open the first week of EVERY month. You read that right. Gone are the days of having to wait two months to put in your app! Regarding reserves, they will continuously be open, but we’ll clear them out at the end of each app cycle. So, they’ll effectively open immediately following this post, and we’d clear out the current set of reserves after apps close at 11:59 PM EST on October 7. HMD and Activity Check will still take place every other month, as will the Test Flight meme and the Bi-Monthly Round Up. Spread the word! Tell your friends. This is pretty rad, after all.
So, right! We’ve got an event for this month, which will take place September 21st to the 25th. It’s about time we had a good, old fashioned experiment, don’t you think? Well, here’s what the Malnosso have planned for our dear residents this time around.
Remember the first time your character came on screen? Their first canon appearance? The moment where it all began? Okay, good. Stop right there. That version of your character is now who they’re Shifted to be in Luceti. They’re the hero before they went on the journey. The villain before they set their diabolical plan into action. Whoever your character is, they are now exactly what they were like at their first canon appearance. Aang was just unfrozen from the iceberg, while Beast will be just about to imprison Belle’s father. We’re calling this little doozy the Level One event.
So, let’s lay out some groundwork here. Characters affected will not remember their time in Luceti. It is literally as if they were just ripped from that first moment in their canon and inserted into Luceti. So yes, they won’t know who the Malnosso are, they will be duly fussing over their wings, and they won’t know other Lucetians beyond those they may know in canon. Additionally, characters will be affected by physical changes as well, so they won’t have that important haircut they have later in canon or any alterations or growth they may have gone through in Luceti. Sokka would be a skinny fifteen-year-old again, while Buffy would be a high-schooler. Feel free to use alternate icons if that floats your boat.
If your canon is a little ambiguous about what your character’s first moment is, feel free to go with whatever you’re most comfortable with, even if the beginning of their “story” isn’t strictly covered in canon or isn’t covered until much later. Additionally, like with the amnesia event, characters’ homes will retain their characteristics - they will not be shifted into a blank slate home. So they may wake up in a room filled with stuff that doesn’t make any sense to them - or in a bed with someone they don’t know! Awkward. The only things that will be shifted are the characters and their minds themselves.
As usual, you have the option of leaving your characters unaffected so they can gawk at everyone else and wonder what’s gotten into their friends. Someone’s got to try and talk some sense into them, right? Or just fumble in frustration. One of these is much more likely.
And that’s it! The effects of the experiment will wear off after the 25th and all will return to normal. If you have any questions, direct them to the mod thread below! Feel free to use this post for plotting.
UPDATE: (added:9/18) Okay, some final notes on Mission 14 and then you guys can finally be done with it!
After the volunteers agreed to a course of action, those that picked Option One would have went out into the desert to search for the cultists. Eventually it would be found by a group of NPCs, but the collaboration of the Lucetians was invaluable, since they helped eliminate areas on the 'grid' that had not yet been searched. They would have been sent home with the knowledge that the Shift Bomb was nearing completion and now had a target selected, but not a solid basis on when it would be launched. The window given was that the Shift Bomb needed at least one more week to finish construction and necessary calculations.
For those not on the mission: there should be a lucetilocked post coming from one of the characters involved before long. More will be talked about in an NPC post following the event.
