Just FYI guys: FOURTH WALL EVENT.

It's going to be held December 18th-20th, just as last year. Details are behind the cut!

This event lasts from midnight December 18th (EST) to midnight on Sunday, or Monday morning. Three days.

Only one post per character for this. F-lists are going to be crazy enough as it is.

You may use other RP journals OR personal journals. You may link to outside sources (fanfic, fanart, etc). You may have your character interact with characters that do not belong to the game or "real people" (aka personal journals) either through the journals or physically via Action post. RULES CONCERNING GODMODDING STILL APPLY. Rules about metagaming obviously do not. This is a smashing of the fourth wall, after all.

PLEASE DO NOT START A HELLA LOT OF EMO DRAMA OR SEX. I know this is unnecessary, as everyone here is of the awesome sort, but just to have the bases covered.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PART OF THIS GAME TO PARTICIPATE. Invite your friends!

Once this event is over, there will be a post from either ANI or someone to explain wtf just happened. Once again, just like last year, your characters will only vaguely remember what happened, if at all. Just a feeling of "...I think something very strange just happened" and noting that somehow time had passed that is unaccounted for.

Threads can be carried to their conclusions, but seriously try not to drag it on for like two weeks. Also, after the event ends, please don't start any new threads on the fourth wall entries.

ADDITIONALLY. We suggest people disable anon commenting for this event. This is not an HMD event, nor is it open flaming season. If we catch wind of commentary regarding how a character is being played, there will be Talks.

I've never done one of these before, so I should probably ask a question. Is this strictly a way for characters to interact with players and non-Luceti characters or can the reference the fact that they're from a game and so-forth? This is mostly for Guybrush, since he breaks the fourth wall all the time in Monkey Island, like criticizing the price of the game or talking about why Loom was never as popular as Monkey Island.

Typically it's a way for player-to-character and non-Luceti character interactions. Breaking the fourth wall in Monkey Island is probably an in-joke for the player rather than an actual aspect of Guybrush's character, you know?

I have a question. ^-^ Every character is affected then, even if they don't participate in the interactions, I would assume? I might have to go on semi-hiatus for that weekend, so no new post or new threads during said event. Would it be easier to just do a kidnapping to avoid possible metagaming after the event is over? (I've never done a fourth wall event, so I'm not sure how this would work. ^-^)

Since the character's memories of the days during the events will be vague, you can miss the entire thing without any consequences after it's over.

You know, I felt kind of bad afterwards that I hadn't participated in last year's 4th wall event. Obviously, you people are doing it again just to give me a chance to redeem myself! Though sadly the muse that I was going to use last year requires more effort nowadays since I am out of practice.
