How's My Driving?

This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!

Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.

I really like the sentence structures and speech styles you use for Spada. All the improper speech like "ain't" and such really tie into his character. It's a jerk having no English voice to work off of but I think you've pretty much nailed the localization aspects.

But I'd love to see his more... obnoxious sides. He does have an ego and I think he'd show it off just a bit more. (Though I don't know his canon point sooooo that could impact sooomething.) Also, hit on girls more. He's supposed to be the "lover" of the group. Let's see it. ;)

Oh man, I was just talking about this on my Plurk yesterday. Both his accent being a total pain to get down, and how I'm not hitting his ego/pervertedness/etc.

No, but it kinda just hit me yesterday that I am really underplaying his especially obnoxious sides and I — guess I've always taken to at least partially shouldering it off on his canon point (it's literally like just after Kelm, so he's got a lot on his mind) but if I do that I'm shrugging off the fact that he's a resilient character who bounces back when tragedy strikes! — Usually. ... Pretty completely, actually. It's just a little awkward for me because of the jamjar setting, I guess, but I forget that he has been here a fair amount of time by now and even if he was slightly off due to his canon point being a major bomb, he'd be 'over it' so damn fast because that's just how he is.

Thanks for bringing both of these up! I always get concerned that I'm overdoing his speech and underdoing his ... yeah, his 'obnoxious sides,' so I'll definitely make more of an effort to drag those out. :>

The canon point does explain a bit. And I think you're right on. He's not the type to mope, right? He takes situations and mistakes and becomes more determined to make it right. When a canonmate shows up, if anything that would be the time for a bit of ":\" room. But he's usually the party member that lightens the mood when crap goes down. And don't forget the ladies.

You've got it though, it sounds like. I can't wait to see what you do up to the next HMD. :)
