How's My Driving?

This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!

Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.

ALSO ALSO: We'd like to clarify that HMD means HMD- which means it's okay to have both good and bad crit. Some people have expressed concerns about posting good/bad crit when a character already has bad/good crit posted. We'd like to encourage you guys to do it anyway! You can drive well or badly, and even good drivers make mistakes. So give it a try \o

Dear, sweet gods I have to start threading with you one of these days if I have not already. I stalk your Jack like crazy and I always, always, ALWAYS crack up or giggle stupidly probably all of his threads. You play him just as I see him in the movies - witty, cynical, slick, and FUNNY. It's an absolute delight reading his posts and threads, so pleassseee don't ever stop what you're doing.

Well. Let me just start by saying that I don't think I could fool anyone if I tried to suggest I didn't enjoy tagging into oblivion with you. I thoroughly enjoy all of our threads. You are a considerate tagger and your ability to go from lulzy to dramatic in a heartbeat is great. So much fun.

I know you'll get all the praise for forever over Jack so I'll just let that appreciation speak for itself and focus on the other canon I know well. I've recently been re-watching early BtVS (I'm mid S3 at the moment) and the whole thing is just one big "my god Saralinda's Xander is so on-the-button." And not just the voice elements but also his phenomenal perspectives and approaches to the weirdness around him and how he copes with the idiot choices the people around him make. Not to mention his demon magnetism. I stalk his threads with glee and smiles and I am so glad you chose to pick him up.

I WISH I KNEW THE OTHER TWO CANONS AS WELL BUT I DON'T. I've only seen the Trek reboot once but from what I remember Scotty sounds on the money. And TMNT I know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING OF EVER except maybe the theme song to that old cartoon. The end.

Amazingly? I'm at least familiar with every canon you're playing in. I haven't threaded with April, but with everyone else--and I know this sounds crazy--I can't shake the feeling that I'm playing with the actual character, not an interpretation. How you absorb and project each one so effortlessly is beyond me.

I really enjoy reading both your Jack and your Scotty--I can always clearly hear their voices. And I love how your writing pattern matches Jack's speech, to the point of writing odd phrasings or just writing in impulsive circles. XD That sort of thing, when done right, is amazing. I appreciate how patient you've been with me in threads and my stumblings of insecurity. (Which may have been your fault--for praising me in things that quite frankly terrify me to do, and I feel like I've been slipping so badly in them.)

Jack's just amazing to watch. Someday I'll actually familiarize myself with his canon. And all of your characters, really, they all have this wacky flow and people just gravitate toward them like iron on magnets. It's beautiful. Such power. All because you know how to have fun, keep it loose, and roll. That amazes me.
