How's My Driving?

This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!

Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.

ALSO ALSO: We'd like to clarify that HMD means HMD- which means it's okay to have both good and bad crit. Some people have expressed concerns about posting good/bad crit when a character already has bad/good crit posted. We'd like to encourage you guys to do it anyway! You can drive well or badly, and even good drivers make mistakes. So give it a try \o

I absolutely adore your Archie. Like, I cannot express how much I adore him. All the changing his name officially to Poor Archie Kennedy jokes aside, you don't rely too much on BAAAAAAAAW, DRAMA. He's a dude who's been through a lot and that's right there in your portrayal, but he's also a p resilient guy who's working what's essentially a second chance sort of deal.

I also want to add EXTRA kudos for your handling of the trauma in his past; I've seen way too many characters with canon abuse in their past be handled so horribly wrong in RP. There's a habit to gloss over it or go the other way and make that abuse all there is to their character. You, however, manage to balance the fact that Archie does have issues with who he is outside of that, and I will forever love how much work you put into the headcanon on that issue.

I think the thing when it comes to working with characters who've been traumatized is to do the research and go through the process with them. By this point in his life, the trauma is only one part of Archie's story. It forever shapes the rest of his life, but it's one of many things that does that. Still, I keep waiting for someone to tell me how badly I'm doing it from the point of view of someone who has been through similar trauma. I don't know how many ex-POWs there are in the game, but...

He's resilient, but not very stable, so he'll still have downs as well as ups. But everyone does that, so. Go nom and stop being hungry! Thank you so, so much for your lovely words!

I was soooo thinking about bringing Parker to Luceti long before I even remembered Archie! She would be the most amazing fun to play! I didn't because she's all introverted and she'd've been the only one in her canon. We need a Leverage RP somewhere.
