Activity Check Results / HMD
The results for the Activity Check are in. Please note that the following characters were either inactive, didn't post to the activity check, or failed to speak to a moderator about their activity. Also added were characters who have dropped, for your convenience. Also for some reason a few usernames were not on the Friend Add/Remove, and I have no idea why, but they're added to this copy-pasta :|; Sorry about that guys.
Copy-paste the following here:
A number of you passed the activity check, but barely. (You know who you are.) Try to pick things up, as it's no fun to character-squat.
If there are any mistakes here, please let us know! Additionally, if your character was removed and you're still active, feel free to appeal to one of us about keeping your character. However, please remember next time to stay active and post to the Activity Check. Thank you!
And as always:
HMD
How's My Driving?
This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!
Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.
ALSO ALSO: We'd like to clarify that HMD means HMD- which means it's okay to have both good and bad crit. Some people have expressed concerns about posting good/bad crit when a character already has bad/good crit posted. We'd like to encourage you guys to do it anyway! You can drive well or badly, and even good drivers make mistakes. So give it a try \o

Anyway, here's the point where I shuffle around and look faintly embarrassed and say thank you for such a kind compliment. I only got into DS9 in January of this year, and after watching several episodes and being fairly eh about the whole thing, I watched "Far Beyond the Stars" and was just immediately hooked. I'm so glad Kay comes off well, and it's especially gratifying to hear it from someone who undoubtedly knows Trek as a whole far better than I do. ♥ I've been thinking about her character for the past six months mostly in a vacuum, so the possibility that I might've developed her in directions that wouldn't seem logical to others has been a bit of a concern for me. But yes, thank you, and let me fall all over myself with appreciation for your Emony, because omg. Emony. D:

I miss playing her! But, I got to the point where after two years, I couldn't figure out what to do with her and my voice for her felt really flat, so I let her go. ;___;
Did you start with season one? I won't lie, when I do my rewatches, I usually start with season four, because as amazing as I find the series as a whole, the first three seasons are rather dull. But yes, "Far Beyond the Stars," is an amazing episode. It's one of my favorites, and to see someone actually playing one of the characters from that world (and someone not Benny, to boot!) thrills me to no end. ♥

It's totally understandable--I've gotten that way with characters, too. About two years seems to be my cutoff so far, too.
I did! Actually, season 1 is pretty much my favourite, because all the best episodes are about Kira learning how to play within the rules and interact with people outside of wartime, and she's by far my favourite character. ^^; I actually couldn't stand most of season four, lol, because its driving force seems to be KLINGONS YOU GUYS THERE ARE KLINGONS HERE BECAUSE IT'S STAR TREK, and on my list of "Star Trek aliens I really dislike," Klingons are second only to the Borg. (The Borg terrify me, while Klingons merely bore me. >>) I do really love the addition of Worf in that season, though, since he really brings out the best in Jadzia (and vice versa), imo.
And...yeaaaaaaah, much as I love Benny, I really couldn't probably play anyone except Kay, Julius, or Darlene. ♥
/tl;drs at you, because there are just not enough people in the world to talk DS9 with D:
