And so I wake in the morning and I step outside

Hey Lucetians. Having fun with all the new people so far? If you missed them, here's your list to add them all! You can use the Admin Console right over here. If you're not on this list and need to be, head over yonder to the Friend Add/Remove page. Go!

There, got all that? Good. Now, event stuff. Not quite an experiment this time. You know that big ol' Battle Dome? Well, the two NPCs residing under it have been making some tweaks on behalf of the Lucetians. Unfortunately a certain Intern has not quite yet mastered Sixth Level Shifting Fundamentals and... well, things will go a bit awry.

On the 26th, the Dome's chambers will no longer function. Though the clinic and vending areas will be fine, the chambers will be locked off entirely. The viewing areas will be blanked out, preventing anything from being seen.

On the 27th, at about noon, suddenly Luceti will be... a little bit odd. All the sort of things that usually happen in the dome? Now it's all over Luceti. Most significantly this will include 'enemies'. They aren't real and they can't kill, but they can hurt you (though not severely). These can range from RPG monsters, generic enemies (like soldiers, bandits, knights, etc), and so on. When they are defeated, they will vanish in a flash of light. However there's a good chance they may just 'respawn' elsewhere. Annoying right?

Unfortunately the scenarios have followed with it, seemingly at random. While your hallway may now seem like a jungle with all the vines all around, your bedroom looks more like a castle dungeon. Even stranger given that your house looked like a skyscraper from outside. Or, you know, perhaps your home is just fine. Only your neighbors have it bad. This means your house could be infested with bad guys AND/OR look completely different. (In other words, it's only as annoying as you want it to be.)

These shenanigans will persist until the 31st, in the evening at 6PM. Everything will be back to normal... but better! At least in the Dome. After it's been fixed to the way it should be, the Dome will now allow for more freedom. Enemies are no longer required, you can simulate a control console inside the scenario to build a world as you go, you can even script stories together if you like. But that stuff is boring, right? The better part is that vehicles can now be simulated - lasers, racecars, and airplanes. It's a duck blur.

The usual safeties of course are still enabled and nothing in there can kill you. Not even crashing spectacularly in a huge explosion. At best you'll just walk away dizzy.

As usual, plotting and questions can be done here. Have at it, ye scurvy players!

Yes! I'm sure there's SOME canonical Zelda fans (I believe Michelangelo is a fan?) who would conceivably program in game mechanics, right?

So shall we make it a date? XD Hell, it might even be fun to have Grune help protect Giles at some point, just for the icing on the WTF cake.

And that's her lowest level spell! Just wait until she casts Absolute. *grin* Or, if she gets a plot-related skill boost, Black Hole. Huge Grune's Quest spoilers ahoy!

You need to work in the bottom of the well in there somewhere.

No one remembers the DEAD HANDS. Everyone has actively forgotten them.

Freaking Robert out = always great. Though once he realizes they're simulations, he'll be less terrified, especially if it becomes obvious that they can't kill.

... He'll still be scared though because D:

Also, awesome! In that case we can have some seriously complex things happen. :|a I wonder if real calculations can be done on the simulations...

I believe we shall make it a date ^_^!

...actually, continuing with the themes we've been discussing, there's one more monster that Grune might need to step up and defend Giles from. I would still like him to deliver the beatdown himself...catharsis, and all that...but seeing Grune defending him would definitely shake him out of the BSOD that would inevitably result.

In case you don't know? Scroll to the bottom of that page to see why.

Taste and smell are supposed to be the only real senses capable of detecting the fact that none of the surroundings are real. In which case Giles...might actually be in good shape, because he depends a lot on his sense of smell for his mental equilibrium.

The senses Robert relies least on! 8D

Though he's observant. So even he might notice things being strange, at least in the case of Terran worlds. That being said, though, a simulation of his home is the best he's had in awhile.

... The pacifistic upgrades to the Dome will be very welcome for him, too.

Oh sure!! There are several things that we could work with from Seto's world~ There is one place in the game that happens during the day (surprising huh?) but I can run the different places by you if you want c:

Hah, this is true! Actually speaking seriously for a moment, it'd be a good way to identify items from other worlds. Like easily explaining Nyquil is cough medicine and good to take at night if you're sick. Or Lon Lon milk is healthy, rich in calcium, and has curative properties.

Or trolls everyone by saying Jello is alive.

It can be found in the Shadow Temple. Anything in the Shadow Temple is nightmare fuel. Anything. Wallmasters, skull-raping shrieking zombies, a mound of quivering white rotting flesh surrounded by long, bony arms with long, bloody fingernails that grab Link by the head and hold him in place until said mount of rotting flesh can slowly inch forward and attempt to bite his face off, rooms lined with skulls and bones, pools of acid, paintings that say things like, "Here is gathered Hyrule's bloody history of greed and hatred" and "What is hidden in the darkness... tricks full of ill will... you can't see the way forward...", guillotines over bottomless pits, wooden crosses with chains hanging off them surrounded by blood, a ferry with a prow that resembles the Grim Reaper which carries people to the underworld, and it's located in a graveyard.

And just to cap it off, it's most likely connected to the well in Kakariko Village (which is a mini-dungeon themed exactly the same that Link does as a CHILD). That people presumably drink out of. "Hey, does this water taste like evil to you?"

This game is rated E for Everyone 8D

Dude, I remember the Dead Hands! (Both of them! Sob.) Maybe an Infinite Hand could come out of the toilet that time around. Like ??? in Majora's Mask only WAY CREEPIER.

[personal profile] lostinmyway 2011-07-23 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Awesome!

...Aw, hell, I'd hoped I'd been hearing that wrong. *hugs Giles* Yeah, Grune will step up without hesitation and blast the hell out of that thing if Giles BSODs. When he snaps out of it, he'll get to see the closest Grune gets to serious in her current state, on his behalf. And then she'll hug him repeatedly afterwards.

Gotcha---still need to know if the Pearl is allowed, though, as a vehicle. Since it won't be anywhere NEAR the village, of course.

Ah great, another reason for Kohaku to hide.

On the other hand, Zel is going to have some serious fun.
