The results for the Activity Check are in. Please note that the following characters were either inactive, didn't post to the activity check, or failed to speak to a moderator about their activity. Also added were characters who have dropped recently, for your convenience.
Copy-paste the following here:
A number of you passed the activity check, but barely. (You know who you are.) Try to pick things up, as it's no fun to character-squat.
If there are any mistakes here, please let us know! Additionally, if your character was removed and you're still active, feel free to appeal to one of us about keeping your character. However, please remember next time to stay active and post to the Activity Check. Thank you!
And as always:
HMD
How's My Driving?
This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!
Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.
ALSO ALSO: We'd like to clarify that HMD means HMD- which means it's okay to have both good and bad crit. Some people have expressed concerns about posting good/bad crit when a character already has bad/good crit posted. We'd like to encourage you guys to do it anyway! You can drive well or badly, and even good drivers make mistakes. So give it a try \o

My concern with the game, as a whole, is similar to some of the other points being brought up...especially in regards to non-combat chars not really having a chance.
One thing I would really like to see are opportunities for ALL chars to show their strengths. This could happen in so many ways, but let's even take a combat-centered idea as an example.
A few weeks ago, Horatio made a post asking what would happen if the third party managed to get past the barrier and invade...so...what if?
Characters like Jilly and Oz might not be combat oriented, but that doesn't mean they would sit aside and it doesn't mean they couldn't help. Fortifying certain buildings, protecting kids, sneaking supplies to those who are fighting, taking care of the wounded, making meals, interrogation of captured foes, politicians or rhetoricians trying to find some kind of peace proposal...those are ALL options for characters to react with. The key, though, is having the threat be something where there isn't an instant out guaranteed in a week and where they have some kind of home-court advantage.
In a draft, Jilly would really be useless. She's not going to wander out to fight...she's not a coward, but she's smart enough to realize that it would only put her friends at more risk if they had to watch out for her, too. So she'd be good and stay back and try to avoid as much danger as possible.
In Luceti proper, though, she'd take risks. She'd put herself on the line to protect others who are even less able to defend themselves than she is. And she'd actually be useful, instead of just being a hindrance and someone else who needs protecting.
My chars aren't physical fighters, but they have BAMF qualities...and so do a LOT of the other characters here. It'd be nice if they had an opportunity to show those strengths and actually work together with others.
In a draft, it might mean having them actually set up at a specific location (like a fort or a Malnosso camp), instead of always being dropping into the middle of some wilderness setting. It might mean experiments going awry in the village proper. It could be something entirely intangible, like an actual sickness or plague. But it'd be great to see plots that really challenge all of us, instead of a select few.
