How's My Driving?

This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!

Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.

ALSO ALSO: We'd like to clarify that HMD means HMD- which means it's okay to have both good and bad crit. Some people have expressed concerns about posting good/bad crit when a character already has bad/good crit posted. We'd like to encourage you guys to do it anyway! You can drive well or badly, and even good drivers make mistakes. So give it a try \o

Actually, anon commenting isn't on, likely was just forgotten because settings don't import and I totally understand that, but I'll go ahead and say what I was going to say logged in anyhow.

I find some of the acceptances that are given to apps to be a bit disturbing. The ones I speak of are like this where it is worded more like a rejection. Normally it doesn't bother me, but that one really did because for one, it was very confusing to even tell if it was accepted until the OOC intro was posted and honestly, it makes it look like insulting players is perfectly acceptable and that is not going to leave a good impression on anyone who happens to be looking. I know it left me with a bad impression reading that.

I'm not saying you guys can't have a bit of fun with it. Maybe as a compromise just delete the joke one making it look like they were rejected and then post a real one like everyone else gets soon after. That way it doesn't leave a bad taste on current and potential players who may be looking at the apps and you guys can still have a bit of fun with the apps.

I first want to point out that Ginia's journal has anon-commenting disabled. I tried to bring this there first but was unable to, so I apologize for the publicity of something I would have shared with you privately.

I wanted to bring to your attention something brought up in the anoncomm about Ginia being able to speak over the lucetilocked network, despite the fact that the laptops are in the tunnels and thus her necklace wouldn't work there. This seems like a major oversight of something that is fundamental to both Luceti and to your character, and while I don't think you're a sloppy player by any means, it doesn't really reflect well on you, especially being a mod.

Ever since the plot with bringing in Zelda I think Sheik has strayed way way too far into the realm of unrecognizable as Sheik. When I read your threads I feel like you're playing an OC with Sheik as the PB. I think you play him way too nice and willing to be friendly when he's not supposed to act that way at all. He's supposed to be helpful, yes, but he keeps his distance from people and doesn't get close. He's cryptic and mysterious and I don't get that vibe from your sheik at all, and that's wrong. He doesn't play his harp enough and I don't understand why he makes pizza at all. Where did that even come from?

And another thing, he's a lot stronger of a character than you make him out to be. He's not going to break down over little things like people leaving, even Zelda. I don't get why you have him fighting Link all the time either. He's supposed to like Link. He's supposed to be friends with Link. I don't see that at all here. I just see Sheik being malicious for no reason at all.

Also, separating him from Zelda doesn't seem like something that should have happened, and no offense to either you or Zelda-mun, but the mods shouldn't have allowed it. It's bad enough Sheik is being played as a separate person, which I was okay with since I know there are different interpretations of canon and what you had was a viable interpretation. But separating Sheik and letting him be his own person with his own separate body is impossible in canon and it should have been impossible in Luceti too.

Last of all, ooc, you are completely unreachable and impossible to talk to and if I may be blunt, kind of idiotic. You need to stop acting like everyone in the game is out to get you. Everyone and their moms knows about grudgeanon and none of us are it, so get over it and actually play instead of dropping all your threads with everyone but the Zelda cast and the Yami no Matsuei cast. I know people actually like you, so stop acting stupid and come join us. I bet your characterisation will improve a lot if you do, even.

Nuke! I lucked out so hard when you decided to pick up Gambit. I feel like we're in a really good flow with him and Rogue and I love being able to talk with you OOCly about it. But especially since he's so important to her character, the fact that you are so marvelously IC and willing to talk with me about things is just - really important to me, since I love playing Rogue. And the fact of the matter is, it's gotten more fun playing her since he's joined - and that can only mean that you are Doing It Right.

Also, Noa is adorable. Seriously, I think I die a little of cute each time we thread with her, and even just stalking her around. I can see how she'd take up a lot of energy, but the fact that you're able to handle - so gracefully - such different voices speaks volumes about your talent and skill.

Taking on a genius character is such a challenge, but you handle Shikamaru with grace and panache and an ICness I only hope to emulate. I love the way that you take so many different things into consideration of your characterization. Even the way you're handling Chouji being gone from the game just strikes me as right. I'm so glad that our characters have gotten to be friends, not only because of the interesting opportunities it's provided me in Katara's development, but because it's helped me get to know you.
