How's My Driving?

This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!

Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.

ALSO ALSO: We'd like to clarify that HMD means HMD- which means it's okay to have both good and bad crit. Some people have expressed concerns about posting good/bad crit when a character already has bad/good crit posted. We'd like to encourage you guys to do it anyway! You can drive well or badly, and even good drivers make mistakes. So give it a try \o

First off, I really enjoy Pils! That much is obvious. She feels very much like a normal girl stuck in Luceti...which is crazy! Poor thing!

One thing I have a little bit of trouble, though, is it seems like you tend to...kind of lead threads towards ending early? What I'd love to see you do with Pilouette is just expand on her conversations a bit more. It feels like a few of her conversations with Precis have been "Hi, oh this is the thing we're talking about, now we're done." What I really, really want is "Oh, hey, let's talk about this relevant thing...now that we're done with that, let's talk about what else is new!" Basically, some conversation filler would be lovely. You're very consistent with Pilouette's voice, but it just feels like conversations fall into this one track thing...but she should be able to bring up subjects of her own, too! And just talk.

Does that make sense?

I was actually worried about this. I'm trying to find a good balance of "What's new with you and this is what's happening with me" because I'm always paranoid about "how much is okay to bring up without coming off as ME ME MY CHARACTER IS WAY SPECIAL THIS IS WHAT'S UP WITH HER" especially since I play an OC.

However, I go get what you mean and I'll try to give a little more in that regard. Thanks for letting me know. :)

Pils really isn't special, but neither is Precis. They're stuck in Luceti, it sucks to be everyone. But unless Pils talks about herself 100% of the time, you don't have to worry. Share a detail or two, try to relate a story, change the subject a bit...as long as it -flows-, no one will care! Really, you don't have to worry about coming off as "MY CHARACTER IS SO SPECIAL" if all you're doing is continuing the conversation in a believable manner. Like, she can change the subject with Precis, Precis would listen....but it's true, Pils might just have a simple conversation with someone she doesn't know well. Just look out for things like that!

Like I said, I enjoy her, but I'd love to see her share more/relate more/talk more as long as it's IC for her.
