How's My Driving?

This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!

Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.

ALSO ALSO: We'd like to clarify that HMD means HMD- which means it's okay to have both good and bad crit. Some people have expressed concerns about posting good/bad crit when a character already has bad/good crit posted. We'd like to encourage you guys to do it anyway! You can drive well or badly, and even good drivers make mistakes. So give it a try \o

I just want to say that I do love the plot and all the stuff you are doing. You guys are definitely awesome mods and I still do love Luceti and all.

But there is one thing that concerns me a bit. That is the new rule that was added this AC for people who were accepted late. I get that this cycle especially there were a few characters accepted right before the event and due to circumstances beyond their control had to intro late. Stuff like that, I definitely agree with making exceptions as needed. But I do think that making it go as far back as it did and being based on when someone posts their IC intro is just leaving open too much room for potential abuse.

Just wanted to get that out there, I'd really much rather see exceptions made as needed than a blanket rule like that which is a bit too wide open for abuse.

Billy's threads seem fine by me whenever I catch them. Of course I only know the barest details about the character, but he definitely looks like a great fanboy character and makes me want to try out that type eventually. And the other I'm familiar with, Ed, also seems spot-on. I always love his mix of dorkiness and disgustingnes. Finally, even though it doesn't really count, I also want to commend you on the wonderful and heartbreaking letters from Suki. I haven't been here that long, but it really seemed like the most heartfelt way to send off a long-running character.

your willow is quirky and sweet. nuanced and blustery and a great balance of all the parts present in her character. i know it can be super intimidating to join a game where a) your character has been before and b) close castmate cr has gone and developed over time in a game. thank you for being patient with buffy's luceti-specific development!

I've been really worried on if I should say or not, because as long as someone has fun and they're not breaking rules or effecting me I don't typically mind enough to comment--but that's really why I have to bring this up. You really don't seem like you're relaxing or having fun a whole lot. I think rping needs structure and logic and I'm glad you do that (because I like structure for the most part), but you seem like you make this all a job you don't like going to, instead of an enjoyable hobby, if that makes sense. I like my CR with Raine, but sometimes planning things with you or keeping you updated is tough because you're always so stressed out about this or that in your rping, and it transfers over sometimes. If the people I'm threading with are solemn and/or not enjoying their rp OOCly, it effects my mood as well, no fault to you.

I hope this doesn't hurt our role-playing together, because I still wanna rp with you and have fun, but I really just want to see you happier with where you are in this game. Which you don't appear to be (and you still feel stagnant? at least that's what it sounds like), and it really sucks to see that, especially since it seems to be a problem for you stretching on for so long OOCly; I wanna help it get better if I can, because it's a thing that's been on my mind for a while.
