Droid Sabotage - Begins September 21st (fyi: we pushed the date up by one!)

New mission will come later this month! We're going to try out a shorter sign-up time to see if it raises more volunteers.

If you're new here, then this is a mission post. You can find available missions at rpmanager. You are welcome to subscribe or track the journal, but this is not required, as updates will be posted on this journal. For those of you who don't know about missions, the links below should help you out. I suggest you start with the Mission FAQ first!

The log is going up for this current mission at the same time. Check out the details inside for a special chance for one character to play ‘hero’ and save the day. However playing hero doesn’t come cheap, either. There will be a thread on here to volunteer for this role!

...Rogue will be an interesting introduction to the world of mutants for Loki. And he will just love watching her and Tony interact, oh dear.

Loki just wants a shot at fetching the chief programmer, really. Because he's good at that kind of thing.

And by "fetching," he means...?

Well, on the plus side, it's not the first time Rogue's worked with people who had been her enemies. And even though Loki's not done a thing to her - loyalty to Tony, yada yada. But team-ups with Magneto happened a few times even in Evolution, so she'll be able to help with the whole 'focusing' thing.

Well, her or parts of her. You know. Whichever is more effective toward getting the mission done.

Because it's got to be better than trying to force those doors, that's for sure.

...there is a practicality here that Rogue can appreciate. She would, however, prefer 'her' to 'parts of her,' especially when it's so easy to knock someone out and drag them along...

Ah, but the question then is what compelling reason is there to leave her alive?

Unless they plan on kidnapping her too. That could be useful, come to think of it.

What compelling reason is there to leave her alive? ...well, Rogue has an intense, visceral dislike for mad scientists, and the mad scientists who have kidnapped her brother and experimented on him a few times while he was here and... the Programmer works for them. SO ACTUALLY NO TEARS WOULD BE SHED, but she'd got this pesky ideological reason and this silly little "conscience" thing.

And... yes, kidnapping her could be useful, but I'm not sure what they'd be able to get out of it if they questioned her? We'd have to ask the mods how that would play out... it DOES pose an interesting question, though.

AGREED ON DISCUSSION... also agreed so hard on fetch-the-progammer-buddies, but we'll have to see how the rest of the planning goes. (Poor Tony may have a heart attack, if that's how this goes down.)

We'll probably have to play that out, since Loki isn't a bloodthirsty monster that wants to just kill people for fun most of the time. More it's a question of what's expedient and will make the chances of success the best. If they don't have a good way of kidnapping the chief programmer, I think he'd definitely be of the opinion that killing her is the much smarter option. Since if they are trying to keep this covert, having a hostage will make getting out way, way trickier.

Tony's heart attacks are like candy to Loki. ;)

Then yes, that would be good to be threaded out. Is it decided that Loki's doing the fetching, then?

Gotcha. I'm not sure how that's best to be worked out, possibly it'll just get handled 'cause you volunteered first? Or maybe it can be done ICly on the log... (thinking)

YES INDEED. Tony might possibly mentally flip his shit if Rogue works with Loki to bring down the chief programmer. Which of course means it should happen. Let's up the tension. Rogue should totally jump in if Tony gets on Loki's case before the actually heist begins (which let's be honest, he will because he's Tony).

I can just imagine her general disgruntlement at having to break something like that up, if Tony started it.

...if Loki started it, it'd be different. But she'd still break it up.

Oh, it's all so much more hilarious if Loki lets Tony start the shit. He's still playing that angle to the hilt. :3 It's worked well for him so far.
