Mission Update!

Droid Sabotage - Begins September 21st (fyi: we pushed the date up by one!)
Field Leader: Steve Rogers; Security: Alia Shepard, Sophie, Rogue, Greg Lestrade, Gai Tsutsugami, Masaomi Kida, Leonhardt; Stealth: Trafalgar Law, Fujiko Mine, Nara Shikamaru, Albert Silverberg, Loki; Technicians: Donatello, Artemis Fowl II, Daisy, Tony Stark; Programmers: Robert Hastings, Pascal, Doctor “Eggman” Robotnik, Raine Sage

New mission will come later this month! We're going to try out a shorter sign-up time to see if it raises more volunteers.

If you're new here, then this is a mission post. You can find available missions at [personal profile] rpmanager. You are welcome to subscribe or track the journal, but this is not required, as updates will be posted on this journal. For those of you who don't know about missions, the links below should help you out. I suggest you start with the Mission FAQ first!

The log is going up for this current mission at the same time. Check out the details inside for a special chance for one character to play ‘hero’ and save the day. However playing hero doesn’t come cheap, either. There will be a thread on here to volunteer for this role!

Feel free to discuss and ask questions here! You may use this as a plotting post for the upcoming mission(s) as well.

It's really a matter of (a) if he has a handler to stop him or (b) someone finally manages to give him a compelling argument about not killing her. Because he's not killing her because he likes killing, but because with all the risk factors that is really the best plan as far as he's calculated.

If he does take her out, he'll just be cutting off her wings and stuffing her in a nice dark corner of a closet where she hopefully won't be found. And then wearing her wings in the scanner like a gross, gross thing. XD

I can totally imagine people being nasty to him during the op. Particularly if he does kill Kidston and they don't like it. But it really does come down to the two factors I pointed out above. Or I suppose if someone is like, "If you kill her I will kill you," he'll give up on it too.

Because causing a massive argument in the middle of a mission? Also not in his best interest.

So far, Daisy's reasons not to kill Kidston are in case the wing scanner needs a lot more than just the wings (pulse, heat, blood type, heat signature, etc), and she may have mroe information or ways to open the locks that may be needed for the team.

In her world, the Office of Naval Intelligence (Halo's version of the Gestapo/CIA/FBI/MI6/KGB/MIB) is excessively paranoid and has a lot of locks for even entering a single office, and guards are trained to shoot first and ask questions later if someone looks the wrong way. Given they are working with something as sensible, Daisy would strongly lean on keeping Kidston alive for those same possible measures -- and with Loki's warning... Daisy is only afraid to kill because it could ruin the operation.

(Rather silly, though... Mythbusters proved you can fool a door's digit reader by using a paper print of a thumb and wetting it. I'm not sure if the Malnosso's machines could be as dumb as them, given differring security technologies.)

The information they've been provided says the wing scanner shouldn't be a problem, and there isn't any other intelligence that indicates she needs to be alive. Dragging around an unconscious captive is kind of... problematic.

This is extremely late, but for another reason to have Kidston alive is that upon death they have a time limit until the body and all related body parts disappear. A time limit that is unknown, as there's no telling just how many hours they have until that happens (my character will say it depends on the individual if his opinion is solicited) and how exactly long they'll need the use of Kidston's wings for.

Would that be more convincing for Loki?

Ah, finally, a good argument. ;)
