Activity Check Results / HMD
The results for the Activity Check are in. Please note that the following characters were either inactive, didn't post to the activity check, or failed to speak to a moderator about their activity. Also added were characters who have dropped recently, for your convenience.
Copy-paste the following here:
A number of you passed the activity check, but barely. (You know who you are.) Try to pick things up, as it's no fun to character-squat.
If there are any mistakes here, please let us know! Additionally, if your character was removed and you're still active, feel free to appeal to one of us about keeping your character. However, please remember next time to stay active and post to the Activity Check. Thank you!
And as always:
HMD
How's My Driving?
This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!
Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.
ALSO ALSO: We'd like to clarify that HMD means HMD- which means it's okay to have both good and bad crit. Some people have expressed concerns about posting good/bad crit when a character already has bad/good crit posted. We'd like to encourage you guys to do it anyway! You can drive well or badly, and even good drivers make mistakes. So give it a try \o

Anyway, from those threads and other threads where characters are just talking and spitballing ideas, it seems you're very enamored with your characters' various superpowers. This isn't inherently a bad thing, but I've found an offshot of that to be awkward in fight threads I've had with you-- I can't fairly call it godmodding (because, at least in my threads, it has mostly been lording over NPCs) but I've noticed you write them with this sense of clipped efficiency of using superpower/ability X to override situation Y and the end result is that that the fight threads I've had with you either lose their dramatic tension or fall on the other player (in this case, me) to maintain it.
It is possible this is just me, but I would urge you to look back on some old action/fight thread bits and see what you think.

I'll start by saying I've had some very odd experiences with fight/action type roleplay. I was involved in a more fight oriented forum for nearly 10 years and it gave me some habits that probably attribute to this. Mainly that mook npcs don't matter, and that's not really a great attitude to have. It's how that worked, and I am trying to change that habit.
I've been through quite a few of my old threads recently, and talked to players involved in my action threads as well and they haven't really said anything to this effect. I know when I write action, and combat in particular, I like to discuss whats going on with the other players involved so that there can be that dramatic flair to it. And I fully admit at least with our threads, I haven't. I probably should have, and I owe you at least an apology for that.

However, the official bios for both species state quite clearly that zombies are a different thing. Given that Blue Exorcist is actually remarkably close to the source material for things a lot of the time, I suspect Blue Exorcist zombies are closer to the original voodoun meaning than the modern one.

Definitely a lot freakier than rakghouls.
