How's My Driving?

This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!

Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.

ALSO ALSO: We'd like to clarify that HMD means HMD- which means it's okay to have both good and bad crit. Some people have expressed concerns about posting good/bad crit when a character already has bad/good crit posted. We'd like to encourage you guys to do it anyway! You can drive well or badly, and even good drivers make mistakes. So give it a try \o

We don't have CR together, I just stalk the tales casts. I do however have a gripe with the way you've been playing Estelle as she's been coming across "ship pushy". Whilst I have no problems with the pairing myself, I do think that the way you've been approaching it could be considered OOC for Estelle. She does have her selfish moments, yet is someone who treasures her friends very much. She would put their feelings before her own, and would support their actions regardless of own opinions. Yuri's murder of Ragou and Cumore is a good example of her putting her opinion aside. She isn't a lovesick puppy who's obsessed with Yuri, which is the impression I'm getting.

Your recent thread with Sokka stands out as the best evidence of this. It might be a good idea to just review how Estelle behaves and kind of not push your shippings so hard in the future. Ships take time to develop if they're not officially "hooked up" in the canon. If you haven't already, talk to the Yuri's mun about how you'd like to go about it? I'm an outsider so I don't know how this is being approached OOCly, ICly though, it seems very out of character to me.

Ah, yes. I had a feeling something like this might come up. You do express a valid concern and I thank you for bringing it up! So I am more than happy to address this as I'm sure you're not the only one.

First of all, I do communicate with Yuri's mun on a fairly regular basis and we have discussed this. To be fair, I don't believe I've RPed Estelle as a "lovesick puppy who's obsessed with Yuri". More along the lines of having feelings for him and being naive enough to be unsure what to do with those feelings. However, she has often put these feelings aside as she's never actually expressed this to Yuri as she's been too shy. When Jonah was brought up, she was obviously upset. However, the core of her upset was for Yuri and his pain, and her own was secondary. Which I may or may not have expressed as plainly as I could have. Estelle has never been faced with such situations, and on top of the other things that had happened recently, she's been unable to deal with these issues as well as she could have had they happened more separately and farther apart.

I do understand if it all may have come across kinda strong, however my intent was actually the opposite of that. I never try to force ships on anyone and I knew that Estelle was going to get her heart broken, although certainly not in this way. XD She's a strong girl though and will get over it and move on. She's just got a lot on her plate right now.

I will, however, keep your words in mind. Thanks for the critique!
