You guys ready for more?

August 9th. It's been a few days since the earthquake, while everyone is still recovering from the disaster, the barrier finally stops flickering. Then it darkens, the clouds a dull grey, the sun turning as black as an eclipse. A pale ring of light shines around it, but only enough to make day seem lit by a full moon. And at night, the real moon shines bloody red.

And the next day the sky seems to explode, giving Luceti the wonderful gift of a rain of monsters falling from the black sun.

All those people who wanted summons? Surprise! The summoning monsters, creatures, demons, and various other entities from all different worlds are coming to visit. The only problem is it's not a courtesy call. Torn from their home dimensions, the summons are violent, angry, and feeling rather confused about what's going on. That means they'll be game to wreck havoc on the village and surrounding area. Some will be easily tamed, but most are wild and uncontrolled, a danger to everyone around them. They can be defeated or even banished, if one has the willpower to conquer them, but it won't be easy for anyone. Tamed summons can be used to fight against others, or you could just keep them around like pet dogs. Really big, ornery, elemental pet dogs.

Time to play dogcatcher, kids!

Extra Info:

- non-summoners can still be involved! As mentioned above, the summons will be especially vulnerable to strong willpower, and it's a known fact that those in Luceti have plenty of that. Anyone will a good connection with the Luceti summon spirits will have a higher chance of taming a summon. It can be done with violence or just really, really good reasoning. Be creative and take the summon/monster/whatnot you're dealing with into consideration!

- characters aren't restricted to their own canons in this. A Final Fantasy character could bond with a Persona. A Persona character could tame or defeat one of Sheena's summons. Feel free to branch out.

- In addition to that, numerous versions of the same summon can possibly show up, depending on the version. Ifrit from FFVII is pretty different from the Ifrit of FFX, for example, and the way they're used is also different. Persona from P3 work differently than those in P4. Stuff like that.

- Speaking of methods of use, they can show up as well. Someone could find summoning materia, the SEES guns, etc. The summons/demons/whatnot can still be out and about, but you'll want to be able to use them after you tame them, right?

- The definition of "summon" can be sort of broad, and for the sake of creativity I'm cool with expanding it to include more unusual things. For example, pulling in a bunch of Legendary Pokemon to kick the village's ass would be kind of sweet 8| If you're not sure about what counts, feel free to ask.

- If your character gets killed, Death Penalties still apply. However, the amount of time that passes before they return and the number of penalties is all out of whack. A character could return in three days- blind, with no memory and a dysfunctional left arm. They could return in eight days with seemingly no penalty whatsoever. The earlier they return, the more penalties they have, and vice-versa. By the end of the event, they should end up with just one penalty, though. The penalty they finish with should be the one approved by a mod beforehand. o/

- No, you won't be able to keep your epic monster pets after the event is over :| Sorry guys, enjoy it while you've got it. All summoning/controlling tools will disappear with them after it's over.

This part of the event runs from 12:01 PM (the afternoon!) on August 9th to 11:59 PM on the 14th.

QUESTIONS GO HEEEEEERE.

As an addendum: John is tucked away in the barracks storage area, and there's been talk of the Justice League (since Wonder Woman helped to find him) sort of guarding him in case anyone finds out he's there and gets some violent urges, since plenty of characters would just love to give the Malnosso a good punch or two. His being there hasn't been announced, but I'm not sure how widespread the information is. I've tried to get some ideas on how his presence has been dealt with and haven't gotten much feedback, so- if you guys have thoughts on the matter, now would be a good time to help me out with that!

Everyone please protect a girl who is about equally horrible at fighting and reasoning with things that are trying to kill her. :|

And yet, despite my own character's weakness to it, I still think this to be a pretty sweet plot. Great job, mods!

So I guess I should get to my backtags today so that I can...participate in the earthquake plot before the next plot/part of the plot comes alonng. s-sigh, self. at least I was only planning to get her involved in the triage.

That icon looks more like Shirley is hiding behind Fenimore.
blessingone: (and to you everything will seem normal)

[personal profile] blessingone 2010-08-08 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Pfffft. Well, Fenimore has proven her abilities as a meat shield....

[identity profile] thegamehiker.livejournal.com 2010-08-08 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
And this is why that girl needs to get her some combat experience!

Well, she can hide behind Sokka until he gets outmatched, at which point he'll give her head start on running before he does.
blessingone: (no more bailing boats for me)

[personal profile] blessingone 2010-08-08 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
She believes that the idea she could learn enough for it to be actually useful is ridiculous, so it is unlikely she will be trying to get any. ...Also she's a little bit lazy sometimes. That enters into it, too.

Can do, sir. She endorses this plan. o7
markofthewise: (Oh really?)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-08-08 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Poor, poor Fenimore. What she doesn't realize is that by being an RPG character, she'll instantly know how to wield a weapon upon owning it and will get better the more she hits people with said weapon. Prior training doesn't even enter into it!

Excellent. It shall work marvelously until Sokka gets a pet.
blessingone: (you bolded all your best words)

[personal profile] blessingone 2010-08-08 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
If only she knew. She could be taking on tens of Third Party members in only a few months if she gained main character status by joining Shirley's party. Though there might be the trouble of finding low-level monsters in Luceti to begin her training with.

...I think Fenimore is going to yell at everyone who gets a pet until she realizes that they calm down when made into pets (I almost tried to use "petted" as a way to simplify that phrase, but that refers to a process that probably doesn't work so well). It's like the butterflies all over again!
markofthewise: (Not interested)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-08-08 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
It's either that or a training montage. A montage did wonders for Sokka.

It'll be funny to see her yelling at people and their big scary beasties. But then, Fenimore yelling at people is always pretty funny. XD
blessingone: (but you don't know me at all)

[personal profile] blessingone 2010-08-08 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Now she really needs to find one of those "camera" things. Perhaps she could make a still-montage.

Well, sadly, she'd have to get pretty riled up to yell at big scary beasties. She'd be afraid the noise would attract their attention.
markofthewise: (Foul plotting)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-08-08 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh Fenimore. You and your sensible logic. It has it's time and place, but not in Luceti.
blessingone: (I'll be awful sometimes)

[personal profile] blessingone 2010-08-08 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Never before has Fenimore been too logical for the place she's in. Luceti is special.
markofthewise: (Yeah whatever)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-08-08 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Sokka learned long ago that his logic has no place in his own world, even less so in Luceti. But sometimes he still tries.
blessingone: (it's my face now shirley)

[personal profile] blessingone 2010-08-08 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Poor guy. He'd do so much better on Earth or any of the non-fantasy worlds.

[identity profile] thegamehiker.livejournal.com 2010-08-08 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
They both would. They should run away together and find one.
blessingone: (I'll be awful sometimes)

[personal profile] blessingone 2010-08-08 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
They can run off into the world that makes sense...until Fenimore realizes that by the standards of those kinds of worlds, she doesn't make sense and then she never stops complaining about that, too.
