You guys ready for more?
August 9th. It's been a few days since the earthquake, while everyone is still recovering from the disaster, the barrier finally stops flickering. Then it darkens, the clouds a dull grey, the sun turning as black as an eclipse. A pale ring of light shines around it, but only enough to make day seem lit by a full moon. And at night, the real moon shines bloody red.
And the next day the sky seems to explode, giving Luceti the wonderful gift of a rain of monsters falling from the black sun.
All those people who wanted summons? Surprise! The summoning monsters, creatures, demons, and various other entities from all different worlds are coming to visit. The only problem is it's not a courtesy call. Torn from their home dimensions, the summons are violent, angry, and feeling rather confused about what's going on. That means they'll be game to wreck havoc on the village and surrounding area. Some will be easily tamed, but most are wild and uncontrolled, a danger to everyone around them. They can be defeated or even banished, if one has the willpower to conquer them, but it won't be easy for anyone. Tamed summons can be used to fight against others, or you could just keep them around like pet dogs. Really big, ornery, elemental pet dogs.
Time to play dogcatcher, kids!
Extra Info:
- non-summoners can still be involved! As mentioned above, the summons will be especially vulnerable to strong willpower, and it's a known fact that those in Luceti have plenty of that. Anyone will a good connection with the Luceti summon spirits will have a higher chance of taming a summon. It can be done with violence or just really, really good reasoning. Be creative and take the summon/monster/whatnot you're dealing with into consideration!
- characters aren't restricted to their own canons in this. A Final Fantasy character could bond with a Persona. A Persona character could tame or defeat one of Sheena's summons. Feel free to branch out.
- In addition to that, numerous versions of the same summon can possibly show up, depending on the version. Ifrit from FFVII is pretty different from the Ifrit of FFX, for example, and the way they're used is also different. Persona from P3 work differently than those in P4. Stuff like that.
- Speaking of methods of use, they can show up as well. Someone could find summoning materia, the SEES guns, etc. The summons/demons/whatnot can still be out and about, but you'll want to be able to use them after you tame them, right?
- The definition of "summon" can be sort of broad, and for the sake of creativity I'm cool with expanding it to include more unusual things. For example, pulling in a bunch of Legendary Pokemon to kick the village's ass would be kind of sweet 8| If you're not sure about what counts, feel free to ask.
- If your character gets killed, Death Penalties still apply. However, the amount of time that passes before they return and the number of penalties is all out of whack. A character could return in three days- blind, with no memory and a dysfunctional left arm. They could return in eight days with seemingly no penalty whatsoever. The earlier they return, the more penalties they have, and vice-versa. By the end of the event, they should end up with just one penalty, though. The penalty they finish with should be the one approved by a mod beforehand. o/
- No, you won't be able to keep your epic monster pets after the event is over :| Sorry guys, enjoy it while you've got it. All summoning/controlling tools will disappear with them after it's over.
This part of the event runs from 12:01 PM (the afternoon!) on August 9th to 11:59 PM on the 14th.
QUESTIONS GO HEEEEEERE.
As an addendum: John is tucked away in the barracks storage area, and there's been talk of the Justice League (since Wonder Woman helped to find him) sort of guarding him in case anyone finds out he's there and gets some violent urges, since plenty of characters would just love to give the Malnosso a good punch or two. His being there hasn't been announced, but I'm not sure how widespread the information is. I've tried to get some ideas on how his presence has been dealt with and haven't gotten much feedback, so- if you guys have thoughts on the matter, now would be a good time to help me out with that!

Well, there are summon spirits in Legendia. Fenimore wouldn't recognize any of them, since the first one makes an appearance a few minutes after she dies. I suppose a rather shakey argument could also be made for a few of the Gaets (big...whale monsters, I suppose is the closest equivalent even if they come in different sizes) since they kind of get summoned by Nerifes, too. Fenimore possibly could have heard of those since they are creatures that move about normally in her world.

...And honestly, Adell has a lot of chivalry going on. That's like his thing. Granted, he's going to be so damn busy he won't be able to play bodyguard for the whole time, but she can keep calling for him. It's just his style.
Plus he obviously has a weakness for pretty girls if his CR list is any indiciation. Tsundere is a plus.no subject
I think I'm going to have to go through her CR and draw up a list of bodyguards for her so that they can take shifts. :P She will certainly take advantage of this, but she'll have the decency to try to find him a thank-you present once everything calms down again.
Fenimore likes this weakness. It is one she can definitely take advantage of. But, like all tsunderes, she denies being one.no subject
That would be a good idea. And getting her to a safe place.
...But now I'm imagining this all being an excuse for a very long outing with these two and a lot of potential "Well Excuse Me, Princess" and lots of Tsundere flying around. XD
Fenimore also likes it because it means someone thinks she's pretty. :Vno subject
Haha, that would be fun. If Adell makes a post anywhere during the event, Fenimore will take the opportunity to whisper-shout through her journal at him while she tries to hide from spirits. XD It probably could easily end up a long outing--while she normally sticks almost entirely to the village in her wanderings, if she was outside when the invasion began, she'd try to escape by swimming downstream, leaving her what would be a fairly long walk from the village when monsters have to get beaten up on the way back.
Yes, well, she already knew that she was pretty, but it's nice to get reminded. *dismissive hair flick to cover up being flattered*no subject
He'll carry her back bridal style if he has to. :V

...She'd be fairly embarrassed about that. XD
no subject
Probably. But she'd enjoy it, right? Adell is a handsome devil. ...Erm, demon. Whatever. :V
no subject
Maybe. But it would never get admitted to anyone. He could end up the first non-Ferines who wasn't grey/white-haired that she has ever admitted to herself that she is attracted to if he does it well enough. ...But probably any enjoyment will be tsuned away even inwardly, because she is very stubborn about this.

I'd be shocked if she ever admitted it, even if she did enjoy it deep down. Honestly, I just see her tsuning even harder at Adell when all's said and done about it. It's still funny either way, obviously.
