Have you ever felt Luceti is just a little bit too homogenous? You look around and it's just humans, humans, and people who look like humans but actually aren't. Isn't that just a tiny bit boring, all things considered?

A long, long time ago, someone named Jae put in a cool suggestion on an even cooler event suggestions post. It was all very groovy and I wish you'd all been there to see it.

From March 27th (12:01 AM EST) to April 2nd (11:59 PM EST), residents of Luceti will wake up a bit different than they did the night before. Raine might wake up and is no longer a half-elf, but is now instead a fully blooded dwarf with a very fine beard to go with it. Or maybe Caesar will find it terribly difficult to nap now that he's been turned into a merman. But it doesn't even have to be fantasy races! Batman might turn into a Krytponian and have to deal with all the side effects that come with it. Naturally these are all just examples. (So you don't have to use them unless you really want to).

So let's talk limitations:

None! The only thing we ask is to use your better judgment. That means don't turn your character into a species that's ridiculously big, or some unstoppable force to cause havok for everyone, or make up something out of nowhere.

You can turn your characters into stuff not from their own canon (for instance Rogue, a Marvel character, could become an Atlantean from DC canon). However to keep things from going overboard, we're going to limit it to only species that exist within existing canons represented in Luceti. Effectively this means that as there are no Kirby characters, you'll just have to live without turning Xion into an adorable Waddle Dee. Woe.

And yes, for the record, animals are okay too. Griffins and horses and ducks and flies. It's player discretion on whether they can be understood or not.

The event is optional and your character can transform when you want to and be back to normal at your own discretion.

ALSO that's not all! We have another event planned. Usually we don't announce them this far ahead, but this is kind of a special case because it will require quite a bit of player coordination.

Around the second or third week of April, we're going to do another AU (Alternate Universe) event. Unlike the one we had in August, surrounding the Earthquake event, this AU will work quite a bit differently. Once this second event starts, people will have no memories of their own universes. Instead, they will believe they are descended from settlers who arrived in the 'Luceti Valley' a few generations ago. Not only that, but their relationships with one another might be overwritten as well. Instead of just being friends, Katara and Shikamaru are siblings. Katara's real sibling? Well... Sokka is just this guy, you know? Married to Suki, raising their daughter Toph. (Why yes, for building family units in this AU, being consistent with ages isn't necessary).

Those are just examples though. In other words, CR may be totally reinterpreted into this new AU however you like. Some of it might remain the same, others might be different. That's up for you all to decide how it works. Chat with each other, plot, and so on. Make it fun!

That's all for now, but we'll reveal more info about the actual AU (and some more backstory) once it gets closer. This is just to whet your appetite and give you enough information to start making any plans you like. Feel free to make a separate plotting post to start coordinating things.

Yeah, but I really hate turning him into something that can barely defend itself because sadly people might take advantage of it to off him.

Only other idea I have is a more traditional sort of demon.

I was thinking of turning Marica into a Porpos just because they're cute. :( Asad is free to join in! Orrrr he can beeeee... something equally emasculating. I'll get back to you on that. :|

Piers makes me think of a seabird or aquatic thing. Like an otter, or a gigantic turtle that has lived for far too long. And everyone would think he was adorable.

Actually, why do I now get this horrible idea of actually turning Piers into a Porpos-kin instead because it's just so fitting (and he might oddly like it). He'd still be adorable though. I could be horribly mean and make him a pink one too.

Actually, I almost think it might be good for Asad to turn him into something more sturdy. Maybe an Auster Folk?

Piers as a Porpos-kin would be adorable too! But then again, pretty much anyone as a Porpos-kin would adorable... Except for Namna. Screw that guy, he stressed me out so much during recruitment.

Asad as an Austerfolk... That's a mental picture I can't see. He would be such a pretty Austerfolk, but "pretty" + "Austerfolk" = ubwahh??

No problem, I'll recolor Neira for icons. She's got more expressions anyhow, even if you drop the one with her being possessed by Ninuhelda (and I probably misspelled that).

And actually, now that I think on it, making Asad one of the Furious Roar might be more appropriate, maybe use Diulf or Cougar for icons (though maybe with some recoloring to make them more of a reddish tone). Still quite sturdy and all which may be good for him, but more fitting.

Neira... Of course Piers would be the girliest looking Porpos. :|b

Asad would make a good Roar, actually. He's got that same noble air about him, haha.

Of course he would be, though without her crown she looks a bit less girly. He acts so girly that I may as well make him look girly for a time. He and Marica totally need to have some fun times in the lake or ocean or something since they both get to be girly looking Porpos.

Huhuhu. That sounds like it would be sickeningly cute. The only question is how long it would take two Porpos-kin to waddle that distance...

And hey, Neira actually does clean up to be pretty non-girly, haha.

They seem to waddle about as fast as humans can walk, if not possibly a bit faster. And plaza to the fort is a 2 day walk if you go via the tunnels. That could possibly be cut down a bit by using the teleporter to the hot springs and waddle the rest of the way over the mountains.

And I'm almost thinking it might be fun to set up a log for all the people turning into aquatic creatures to go play in the ocean.

Hopefully, that won't be a play-date of two. Aquatic species, go!!

... Though I wonder if Porpos-kin would technically be like... mammals... or amphibians... Their skin has a kind of ambiguous texture. >_>

Now that I think on it, I think Nimni mentioned having a blowhole. So that likely would make them like whales or dolphins, definitely mammals, but ones that can do fine outside of water for a long time.

And as far as I know, we have a few folks considering mermaids (which should be a joy if they aren't near water when they change).

Imagining people in the early morning desperately dragging themselves across the ground to get to water. Am kind of freaked out.

Or it may mean they will be hiding in their bathtubs for a time.
