Are you guys tired of these teal deers yet?

Okay everyone! This is a bit late, but here it is. The Family AU Event starts at midnight tonight! So, here's all the final juicy details.

First off, the previous event posts to refresh yourselves. Now then...

Q: Why is Bil in my Luceti?

A: Bil (known to Luceti as Sir Catherine) will arrive in Luceti on the 22nd. He will do so with Molly, the intern NPC from the Halloween Event last year. They will have their own separate log for their arrival, preceding the festival, and characters can come and interact with them in that log. Given the Malnosso's status in Luceti, characters are not likely going to be hostile (unless they are just hostile people in nature) and unlikely to attack. If they do, however, Bil will be accompanied by six Malnosso Droids and a rather handy Shift around his person to defend him. Never hurts to be prepared, right? After the festival, Bil and his entourage will go to the Battle Dome. Anyone who chooses to watch them will be able to find them use the central console to activate a lift to take them beneath the Dome. Now what could they be up to? It will be impossible to follow them, even if you saw what operations they used to get in.

As for why? There should be a Bil post after the event where he'll explain his shenanigans. If not, it will get explained in due time anyway. Please note that during this event, Bil will not be available for requests for items. In fact, he won't be available for any requests or questions until the next Malnosso journal post. Sorry, but he's busy. If you DO have any requests you want to make, you can use the Request Line post and backdate it to before the event. (To those already there, I see you! I'll get to you soon, promise.)

Q: What will my character remember?

A: All of the events of the week! However they will not have overlapping memories of their AU lives. This means that after the event is over, Elicia will not have conflicting memories of growing up as Sanji's daughter to deal with. Sokka will remember his 'kids' as they were during the event, but he won't remember changing Toph's diaper as a baby. So essentially they will only remember what happened during those ten days, but not what happened before in the AU they were a part oi.

That said, if you want them to keep some specific memories or feelings, you can, but these will most likely fade over time unless of course your character is just that desperate to keep them. But ultimately Bil doesn't want to go breaking all of his lovely Lucetian friends. Sure, maybe they'll all feel humiliated and violated afterward, but they'll bounce right back, surely!

Q: So my character wakes up and...?

A: They'll wake up in their current homes or wherever they fell asleep last night. When they wake up, they might find themselves bewildered and shocked that they're in the WRONG homes. Or maybe people are in their home who shouldn't be. Work that all out as you will. You are welcome to try and sort out who live where, but also feel free to assume they just later go to 'where they're supposed to be' and handwave wherever that location might be.

Q: So you mentioned beasties...?

A: On the 25th, beasties will arrive in Luceti. They will look something like this and stand roughly five feet high at the top of their back. They will mostly roam about the forest and other places in Luceti, seeming to try to work out some sort of scent. Some of them may even enter the village at night. If any villagers get near them, they will take in their scent and then ignore them (although not without a lot of fierce growling). They will only attack if villagers attack first or attempt to impede their path. They are vicious beasts despite their lean appearance, are quite powerful and very quick. However they are well trained beasties and won't make a kill unless absolutely unnecessary. Instead, they will try to just incapacitate or injure the villagers and leave them behind. They can, however, be killed. If captured, they will not cease attempting to escape, even at cost of injury to themselves. Once the event ends, all of them will disappear, including any corpses or captured beasties that remain.

Their true goal is to hunt out Bil, but unfortunately he's made himself quite scarce! They are Shift Hunters and it's Shifts they are 'smelling'. As a result, any character who learned summoning from Rem or is still under a kidnapping effect will warrant extra interest from them, though they still won't attack without provocation.

Q: What about the dreams?

A: Those will start on the 24th (or rather, the night between the 23rd and 24th). Characters may have snippets of their past lives show up in their dreams, or full memories. These will become more vivid and easier to remember as the event goes on. So what does this all mean? Probably nothing! Any sane person talking about fighting monsters and saving worlds is clearly a little crazy, right? Or maybe they aren't. Or maybe it's just another Shift. Life in the Luceti Valley is weird like that.

Note: Naturally the dreams are optional. If you don't want 'em, don't have 'em!

Q: What about...?

A: It's possible it was answered in previous posts. Check out this thread and this one too. Or you can just ask in this post too, if not.

Here's the TEN DAY timeline to recap what will go on.

18th: People wake up in their new AU life, startled about things all being in the wrong places and so on. Most will probably just assume the switcheroo is some sort of unusual Shift, as often happens. (We'll have a mass log for reactions.)
22nd: Bil arrives that morning. The Festival will start that evening at 6PM. (Expect a log for Bil's arrival and the festival)
24th: The dreams begin. In this scenario, they start off more slowly before allowing bigger reveals towards the end of the event.
25th: BEASTIES. (Starting around midday.)
27th: Last day of the event!
28th: People wake up that morning back to their oldselves! Commence freak out. (We'll have a mass log for reactions to that.)

Just keep in mind the mass logs are optional. You can still make posts if you want, they're just around for those who don't want to have to make a new post for that sort of thing.

And that's it! Questions in the MOD thread up top. You can do any sort of last minute plotting with the rest of the post. Have at!

In this AU event, I've wanted to justify Daisy having a piece of armor, and I thought for a long while to make it as a luceti-wide project made with looted 3rd Party Cult artifacts.

However, maybe it'd be an easier explanation if Robert (or his family and company) had been the one that made Daisy's suit, but she was the only person with the ability to wear it without hurting herself (in canon? A poor unaugmented bastard that wears the MJOLNIR dies a horrible death). And so, Daisy owes a lot to Robert by making her stronger.

But Robert is very averse towards violence and warfare, and Daisy has that in spaces... So, I wonder if you'd like the idea. Or perhaps, that he made the suit as a prototype for miners, and Daisy just found uses for both mining and warfare?

Well, AU Robert's definitely still going to be super-adverse to violence/warfare, but with this AU he isn't going to be as all-encompassingly pacifistic-until-bigoted. He'll be more of a standard pacifist, where he doesn't fight if he doesn't have to, and he's sheltered so his reactions towards violence and stuff will still be more exaggerated than most peoples' since he has little experience with it. But... he'll be a lot more comfortable with it than his canon self would be.

I, sadly, know very little about Halo canon (feel free to elaborate! o/`) but since Robert himself is quite skilled with magitechnology, due to having pretty much been initially groomed to take over the enterprise, he should be skilled enough to at least partially make something like it. It's indeed possible that it was some kind of mining-assist technology in the beginning, and Daisy later adapted it for a war purpose. This would seem to make sense because mining would probably be necessary to build more magitechnology in the first place, so a magitechnologist would be looking for things to improve mining abilities... :|a

It could also be augmented with some stolen Third Party artifacts, maybe integrated into the overall framework. (Assuming Don is going to be involved as Robert's employee-slash-terribly-hidden-affair then Don could have contributed to this as an engineer...) Or something along those lines.

Maybe that could work: Robert and Don made the suit and overall framework as a project with stolen 3rd Party Artifacts and technology, Daisy prolly ended up as the only person capable of using it (much to the doctor's displeasure), and while she uses it for mining, she modified a lot of elements and programs of the armor to adapt it to war against the 3rd Party Cult.

In Halo canon, the MJOLNIR works essentially as a mini-starship that has an on-board computer of sorts that helps the wearer in a lot of forms in combat: Communications, a sealed environment for space operations, target-tracking, armor-locking, weapon identification, FOF identification, radar, etc. Most importantly, it has a reactive gel layer of sorts that amplifies every movement. So much that even thinking about moving an arm makes it move stupid fast*, though it was handwaved in the book that all Spartans received subliminal instruction to move it delicately.

*In real life, moving a suit like that is described as riding a horse. Hell, a lot of vehicles are designed not necessarily only to make them faster and tougher, but they're also designed so the pilots don't kill themselves while using them -- A very common problem with fighter jets. So when you've got a suit that moves every joint of your body stupidly fast.... it ain't pretty.

Seems to be sound enough to me! I'll have to make sure that's okay with Don's mun first, though. :x Which hopefully it should be. Otherwise Robert could've done so by himself o/`~

And yeah, a suit like that could be pretty dangerous for somebody who wasn't trained or modified to use it. Which might be why Robert thought Daisy was a good prospect, because of her abnormally strong body (do you have any explanation as to how she got that way in the AU?) and her ability to handle the suit's properties.

I can see it being not as strong as it'd normally be, though, but that might be something more up to your discretion than mine. :|a I can work with anything, really. =D

I'd blame it on being Superman's daughter and the connection to the spirits that can be used to justify superpowers in this AU.

As for the suit's strength, maybe a lot of it's war-focused functions would be toned down or inexistent, unless Robert thinks they would keep Daisy safe, despite his moral aversion towards war-focused inventions.
