And so I wake in the morning and I step outside

Hey Lucetians. Having fun with all the new people so far? If you missed them, here's your list to add them all! You can use the Admin Console right over here. If you're not on this list and need to be, head over yonder to the Friend Add/Remove page. Go!

There, got all that? Good. Now, event stuff. Not quite an experiment this time. You know that big ol' Battle Dome? Well, the two NPCs residing under it have been making some tweaks on behalf of the Lucetians. Unfortunately a certain Intern has not quite yet mastered Sixth Level Shifting Fundamentals and... well, things will go a bit awry.

On the 26th, the Dome's chambers will no longer function. Though the clinic and vending areas will be fine, the chambers will be locked off entirely. The viewing areas will be blanked out, preventing anything from being seen.

On the 27th, at about noon, suddenly Luceti will be... a little bit odd. All the sort of things that usually happen in the dome? Now it's all over Luceti. Most significantly this will include 'enemies'. They aren't real and they can't kill, but they can hurt you (though not severely). These can range from RPG monsters, generic enemies (like soldiers, bandits, knights, etc), and so on. When they are defeated, they will vanish in a flash of light. However there's a good chance they may just 'respawn' elsewhere. Annoying right?

Unfortunately the scenarios have followed with it, seemingly at random. While your hallway may now seem like a jungle with all the vines all around, your bedroom looks more like a castle dungeon. Even stranger given that your house looked like a skyscraper from outside. Or, you know, perhaps your home is just fine. Only your neighbors have it bad. This means your house could be infested with bad guys AND/OR look completely different. (In other words, it's only as annoying as you want it to be.)

These shenanigans will persist until the 31st, in the evening at 6PM. Everything will be back to normal... but better! At least in the Dome. After it's been fixed to the way it should be, the Dome will now allow for more freedom. Enemies are no longer required, you can simulate a control console inside the scenario to build a world as you go, you can even script stories together if you like. But that stuff is boring, right? The better part is that vehicles can now be simulated - lasers, racecars, and airplanes. It's a duck blur.

The usual safeties of course are still enabled and nothing in there can kill you. Not even crashing spectacularly in a huge explosion. At best you'll just walk away dizzy.

As usual, plotting and questions can be done here. Have at it, ye scurvy players!

I will be thrilled to have them run into each other - and even more thrilled to have B-K shenanigans if this is cool. Here, have a list!

I'll have to see if their associated sound effects and stuff will play...

Definitely up for B-K shenanigans! And thanks for the list! It's been ages since I've played either game.

I say yes. Because this needs to happen.

It's a yes on the sound effects! \o/ Whoo!

... The rest is apparently up to my imagination. So imagination, people will be getting!

Any preference to what you want Ginia saving him from? Or how you want this situation to work out?

Huh... well, Robert is going to be freaking out the moment this thing starts, because he's still mostly pacifistic and not prone to fighting anything that appears sapient. :|; That and everything will be changing at random...

... That means there'll be plenty of opportunity to catch him probably trying to round up his friends/figure out wtf's going on - and if he realizes these are simulations, his scientific curiosity might catch up to him. Any of those situations are rescuable... I think. :|a
shadedsunlight: (Should I just get along with myself)

Would he mind if Ginia stuck around as a guard of sorts to make sure he doesn't get hurt?

[personal profile] semper_cogitans 2011-07-23 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Not at all! That'll likely be how Ginia meets Don then, since chances are Robert will go crying to his turtle ninjaneer boyfriend at some point all "OH GOD SAVE ME FROM EVERYTHING".

... Best meeting ever!

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2011-07-23 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Works for me! Ginia could escort him to wherever Don is (oh god, RPG escort quest) then let Don take over after that?
semper_cogitans: (*facepalm*)

[personal profile] semper_cogitans 2011-07-23 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
That would be awesome. Best RPG escort quest either. At least Robert's AI isn't terrible? :|;

... actually, with his proclivity to do stupid things in violent crises, it is.

...If you've ever played World of Warcraft, I'm thinking of all the escort quests where the NPC you're escorting walks slowly, then suddenly takes off to check out some item or plant and gets ambushed by three or four mobs.

That was supposed to be ever, not either. lol brain.

And... I never have, but that sounds annoying. At least Robert won't do that.

They were annoying, but also oddly hilarious at the same time. But good to know! If he did, she'd probably pick him up, sling him over a shoulder, and carry him the rest of the way.
