Come with me and you'll see a world of pure imagination...
Does your life seem to need just a little more magic to it? It does? Good!
But first of all, let's do all the new friend adds for this cycle. We've got a lot of great new people in the game, so let's not miss out on them! Copy the below in the admin console and get yourself updated. If you are new and not on this list, be sure to comment here with your new character.
Secondly, the weather calendar has finally been updated for this month! Apologies for the delay, but hopefully this should clear up any questions about the upcoming weather.
Thirdly, we're still working on getting the new missions set up. There's no new details yet, but we didn't get to announce them last month like we'd hoped. We aim to have them ready by the time this next event is over. Speaking of which...
Finally, starting on the 25th at midnight (or 12:01 AM to be absolutely clear), a little bit of magic will enter Luceti. Suddenly everything will be just a little bit like a fairy tale!
For the week, everyone in Luceti will suddenly feel compelled to behave a certain way, following classic fairy tale roles. Naruto suddenly finds himself wanting to practice evil sorcery and kidnap princesses - such as Toph Bei Fong. Lucky for her that she can rely on the brave and handsome Prince Charming, aka Elicia Hughes, to come to her rescue. There are plenty more roles to go around. Perhaps Horatio will start hiding under the bridge and begin taking tolls from people crossing it, Dr. McCoy might feel compelled to sneak into people's homes and repair their shoes, or Sheena might decide she need to break into someone's apartment and find the porridge that's just right for her.
While under the experiment's effects, characters will be consciously aware of what's going on and are free to try and resist it all they like. But the more they don't do it, the more difficult it will be to not just give in. Fortunately once they reach their 'Happily Ever After' (the end of their story), they'll go back to normal. Unless, of course, they get wrapped up in a new story. For as long as they are stuck in a fairy tale (which can strike at random and out of the blue), they'll be stuck in the appropriate costume and unable to get rid of it until their story ends.
As for the roles characters can play, be creative! Anything from fairy tales are acceptable. Classic fables and stories are acceptable too. Becoming the 'monster under the bed' is perfectly acceptable. We won't begrudge you throwing in a bit of Shakespeare too. Just note that these will only cause people to act as their role intends them to, but they won't get any special powers or skills from it, though a bit of shape changing may occur to better fit the role (such as gaining horns, a mermaid's tail, and so on). If their story involves some magical item (such as a magic lamp), then some mundane object can fill the role (such as a shoe), but the will be compelled to act as if that item is indeed special.
For ideas on what kind of roles to play, consider looking at classic tropes and archetypal characters in fairy tales. (Warning: we're not responsible for the hours you may lost to clicking the previous links.) For other ideas, just look at some classic fairy tales like these or go find some of your own. There's tons to work with!
Just remember, the bad guy always loses in the end! And that many Happily Ever Afters end with being Happily Married.
Questions and comments are welcome below. Feel free to do any plotting you want to do all in here. Have fun! It all ends at midnight on the 2nd (or 11:59PM on the 1st). Don't all fairy tales?
