lucetimods | Draft: Requiem for Zompania

We’ve hinted subtly and not-so-subtly, and I’m sure at this point our gleeful cackling has given us away. That’s right, kids, it’s time for a draft!

Please read on for directions and basic details. The full description of the draft will be posted by May 20th, so keep an eye on the skies.

Sign up in the appropriate thread below. If you don't sign up, then your character won't be called on the draft. Please be aware that there are two different signups for this event. People who sign up under the Draft list will go on the draft proper; people who sign up under the Reinforcements list will be volunteers brought in as reinforcements on day 4.
There will also be draft-related happenings in Luceti proper on days 3-6, so you don’t have to go on the draft and fight to be involved.
The draft will take place in the enclosure Zompania and the surrounding area, a setting not completely dissimilar from Luceti itself, though Zompania is geographically larger and more built out as a city despite its smaller population.
Draftees will technically be at Zompania from the 22-25 of May. (Effectively from May 20-25; keep reading to understand what we mean by that!) Fighting will be constant, though once in the city proper there will be some lulls in combat.
Reinforcements will be at Zompania from the 23-25 of May.
Luceti itself will be used as a medevac and muster area from the 22-25 of May.
Enemy units on this draft will include: Foot soldiers, Elites, Shifters, Dream Shifters, Shift Hunters (commonly armored) Details on them are on the Nitpicker's Guide.
There will be no scanners for this draft until the reinforcements arrive; prior to that cultists must be incapacitated, imprisoned, or killed.
The draft will be announced ICly by a typical Malnosso broadcast, but not one presented by any particular NPC.

So you can decide if you want to sign up and start plotting, here’s a broad outline of the draft itself:

The draft begins on day 3 (May 22) with the Lucetians sent to the battlefield with only 20 minutes of warning. After six hours of pitched battle between the MSF (lead by Specialist Davis) and Third Party, everyone is killed by a bomb dropped by the cultists.
Only surprise! You’re alive, uninjured, you have no death penalty, and it’s day 1 (May 20), both thanks to the efforts of John. But you remember dying. Oh yes.
From day 1-3, the draftees will be engaged in entering cultist-controlled Zompania, locating the bomb that will otherwise kill everyone on the morning of day 3, and taking possession of it.
From day 4-6, the draftees will be trying to hold whatever position they’ve established in Zompania and survive until reinforcements can arrive and the battle ends.

For people who wish to participate in some capacity in the plot but would like to miss out on the death and time travel portion of the draft, you also have some options!

In the morning of day 3, Luceti will be experiencing a little time stutter to let everyone know that something strange is happening.
From mid-day 3 through the end of the draft, Luceti will be acting as a medevac area for MSF forces. All volunteer healers (or people who can help in any capacity) will be welcomed to help deal with the influx of wounded and traumatized soldiers.
On day 4, there will be a chance for people in Luceti to volunteer as battlefield reinforcements. They will be helping the MSF with combat on day 4-6. Some non-combatants will also be welcomed as well as back-line personnel or even to help man MSF ships.
”Infantry” reinforcements may choose to be dropped off near Zompania (hope you’re in the mood to parachute!) and be able to fight their way through to join with the original draftees.

The log for the draft will be put up on May 22nd. There will be a designated thread in the log for people who want to participate in the happenings in Luceti, or you can do your own posts as normal.
