Characters being dragged off (aka, the late night of the 13th:

Ted
Kouichi Kimura
Jenny
Kratos Aurion

This is how it's gonna go down.

  • Down in the tunnel system, there are red arrows on the walls and floor that will guide characters to the nearest room on their left, after turning westward. (Beyond this room is John's territory, which is still protected by a barrier. It's just been moved back about 20 feet or so.) In that room there is a silver platform; some characters may find it familiar. It's labeled with a black H.47 on the top. There's only room enough for one person. Once a character steps on that disc, the barcode on the back of their neck will grow warm and they'll find themselves suddenly in a white room with a door, and no disc (it's not like Star Trek where things shimmer and stuff, they just are suddenly in a different place).

-If more than one character stands on it, so long as they're both drafted then they will both be transported. If one isn't or both aren't, nothing will happen.

-If your character is being dragged a la droid, the droid will stand with your character on the platform. However, once your character arrives in the white room, they'll be alone.

  • Past the door is a white hallway. Each of the doors has a character's name on it, in alphabetical order by either given name or last name (depending on whether or not a character has a last name). First a door on the right, then the left, switching back and forth until the last character's door (namely, Yuber). After that the hallway dead-ends. There are no windows, and doors that do not belong to your character are locked.

  • Each room is customized to the character. When they enter, they'll see just a blank hotel room and whatever effects they requested. If they asked for a type of vehicle that won't fit into the room, there is an additional door on the far wall that leads to a storage area or a hangar. On the wall beside the entrance is a buzzer and an instruction plate that reads, "press for assistance." If your character asks questions about who this is, why they're here, etc, they won't get an answer. But if they press and ask for something in their room -"I want an HD TV, I want a hot tub, I want..." etc, when they turn around it will be there. Items in their rooms cannot be removed from their rooms or taken back to Luceti with them when the fighting is done.

  • Rations for time spent on the battlefield will be provided, and can be found with the supplies/weapons. Meals, snacks, drinks, etc. can be requested via the assistance button while they're staying in the rooms.

  • They can visit other rooms so long as the owner invites them in.

  • Characters can use their journals to contact people in the village enclosure.

Concerning the battle:

  • First and foremost, MOST -IF NOT ALL- OF THE FIGHTING WILL BE ASSUMED; in other words, without mods playing the NPCs. If you absolutely must -MUST- play out something of great importance, please let me know and I'll provide an NPC, we can set up a log, something. But please, unless you need it for a specific purpose, don't ask for NPC battles. It will be largely uneventful and full of your character kicking ass and taking names and knocking down buildings and enemies, etc etc. This is to give you guys some freedom as well as keep us from a) getting overloaded and/or b) holding you back.

  • The enemies look like the ones from the intruder event. Men and women, large white wings. The only difference is that these ones have visible weapons, mostly swords. Some of them have knives, some of them scimitars, but blades for the most part. They're also capable of a specific type of Shifting; think of it as telekinesis with inorganic material. However, it's only short range and they can only do it once every few minutes. Somewhat easy to avoid.

  • THINK OF THESE GUYS AS PRE-BOSS CHARACTERS, for all you game-players out there. You know that pre-boss battle or all those minions that come with the boss? They're like that. Average difficulty (C-class, hurr |D). If your character gets horribly wounded, it's more than likely because they're non-combatants or because they got jumped.

  • IGNORE WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT CALLING FOR HELP ON THE JOURNALS. I'm retconning that because it's stupid. |D If your character is mortally wounded, collapses in battle or has been out longer than eighteen hours, they'll immediately be transported to their room. If they need medical attention, a pair of droids will come in and patch them up and leave them to rest. If it's minor enough that they can go back out and fight, as soon as they're up to it they'll be sent back out; likewise, if they get a healer with them and can be healed up, they'll be sent back out once they rest.

  • The setting is a typical early 21st century Earth city. There are stores, skyscrapers, warehouses, apartment complexes, etc; anything you'd find in a metropolis. Your characters are free to explore as much as they want, use the land and buildings to their advantage. Things taken from the battlefield will be confiscated before they're returned to the village enclosure because that is not your property, you little thief.

  • When they're transported to the battlefield on the 14th (10 AM EST), they will start all together on the far west side of the city, in an underground parking garage. If your character wants to hotwire a car, do anything, feel free. You bad children. The Malnosso would prefer the buildings and things in the city remain as undamaged as possible, but there's no penalty for it.

They'll be out there for a week! Any questions, concerns, anything at all, please ask!

*white hallway, not while, right?

Also, I will likely send Moro into battle in the future. Given how she is... could they provide her with a room that suits her more?

AAAND as for the setting, is there anything beyond the city nature-wise, because she will definitely be snooping around with that.

[personal profile] biteoffherhead 2010-03-13 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
Mmkay because squeezing her into a tiny human room seems a bit silly (though humorous)

Oh, so next time around it won't be the city at all. Gooootcha.

Derek: My Jeep! :D

(The weirdest things make this man happy...s'cuse him while he rummages in the back to see if there's any Coke back there...)

And now for the real question:

I know that people with powers in canon are getting them back, and at full strength, but are people who are learning filial magic going to be able to access those abilities during their participation in this?

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok. :)

*rereads other questions/answers/decription*

So this looks like it's pretty much a free-for-all that won't really be acknowledged as having any effect on the over-all plot other than letting characters get some aggressions out (and getting very little info in return), correct? (Asking now so that you don't get ten million little hit and run AIM questions from me later in the week. :) ).

And other than the usual 'don't god mode' rule, anything you'd want us to keep in mind if/when we post something in our journals (again, noting the 'don't put it in lucetilogs' thing, here, which indicates this is more of a 'for fun' thing rather than a plot builder).

[identity profile] nexuschamp.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no, it'll have a lasting effect. We wouldn't go to all this trouble if it didn't. It's just more of a lasting, overall effect than each individual character because if we went by each individual character/battle then fffffffff Akai and I would have to give up sleep.

By all means, if you'd like to do logs with your fellow combatants go ahead and make logs. Feel free to godmode enemies and such also? If you're unsure as to how they should act/fight/behave you can always ask.

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay. I'll keep that in mind, too (does not want to screw things up and/or assume too much.)

Thanks guys for answering my questions.

[identity profile] no-use-running.livejournal.com 2010-03-12 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Got it! This'll be kinda fun. XD

You said most of the fighting will be assumed; does the same go for any injuries or character deaths, or will there be damage rolls from mods at all or anything?

[identity profile] no-use-running.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Excellent! One lab rat soldier ready to ship out! :D

[identity profile] vulcanblazer.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
So, for future reference. Obviously you don't want to be overloaded with NPC battles and most of the fighting's going to be assumed. Would that stop people from writing stories or anything about the battles that occur and posting them in a proper place?

This of course assumes proper writing protocol in a situation like this, specifically no god-modding anything that isn't a punching bag NPC or learning anything our characters can't and shouldn't know. (Such as figuring out whatever the Third Party's next move is, for example.) But would writing specific encounters during these battles be acceptable?

Also, are we to assume all warriors of the Third Party are still sworn to silence and will not speak under any circumstances?

[identity profile] unseenspy.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Even for the characters who are dragged off, how exactly will they be forced to fight? I mean, what will stop them from staying in their luxury rooms the whole time?

[identity profile] ivorygunslinger.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
So I totally forgot until right now, if Yazoo asks for his motorcycle can he have it for the fight or should he just go find one to hotwire?

[identity profile] smoking-space.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
"The Malnosso would prefer the buildings and things in the city remain as undamaged as possible, but there's no penalty for it."

You're sending this guy. Expect something to go down before the week is up.

So what kind of vehicles are in the parking garage, since Cid's not getting his plane? Standard road vehicles?

[identity profile] blackenedchaos.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
A question, if they take anything from the battle and record it via the journals, would the recording disappear then or is that a way to be able to keep a record of what they saw?
