How's My Driving?

This is a crit post for both the community and game and for your characters. If you have something you'd like to see us improve upon with the game, PLEASE TELL US HERE! Anon commenting is on, but if anything gets really nasty there will be warnings and thread-freezing. This isn't required but everyone is encouraged to take advantage of the advice of your fellow players!

Just some pointers: no taking cheap shots, no dragging personal issues into things and for the love of all that is wise and great, please double check your replies and comments before posting them. Sometimes a change in phrasing can make all the difference between a helpful tone and a condescending one.

ALSO ALSO: We'd like to clarify that HMD means HMD- which means it's okay to have both good and bad crit. Some people have expressed concerns about posting good/bad crit when a character already has bad/good crit posted. We'd like to encourage you guys to do it anyway! You can drive well or badly, and even good drivers make mistakes. So give it a try \o

You probably know this already, but every time I catch sight of your Goku, I turn into one of those terrifying squeeing fangirls and spaz forever on how cute and fun he is and just how much I think he's so perfect. I'mma just gush about Dist here for a bit because I'm canon blind on the other two and your Dist totally deserves it.

I love Dist. I saw him as a pretty cracky character when I was first watching the series and honestly hadn't expected much of a positive relationship to develop between him and Ion just because he was a villain and all. But now? I don't think I say enough how much I seriously love the CR between Dist and Ion. <3 In the past few months it's moved from an awkward acquaintanceship into an awkward friendship and it's so cute and ridiculous, I love it.

You're so good at maintaining that balance between a distinguished and intelligent scientist and an immature egotistical jackass. And yet between those, you even manage to bring out that bit of kindness in him that he is just so awkward at showing. I seriously stalk all his threads for forever (his threads with Nephry, Winry, and Guy are especially awesome) and his voice is always just spot-on.

THE ONLY CRIT I HAVE

IS THAT NEITHER OF US HAVE AN ICON OF DIST AND ION SKIPPING THROUGH A FIELD OF FLOWERS AND SHOUJO LOVE BUBBLES YET.

I really enjoy reading both your Jack and your Scotty--I can always clearly hear their voices. And I love how your writing pattern matches Jack's speech, to the point of writing odd phrasings or just writing in impulsive circles. XD That sort of thing, when done right, is amazing. And no question you've hit it dead on.

Can't say it enough - I admire you so much for taking my incessant crit in stride and always keeping a great attitude. What's even better is you take it to heart, work with what you got, and improve! In a single month I have seen you grow more as a player than most people would in years. And the more you work at it, the more I see your Leo coming into his own. I've been linking people to your recent threads like crazy, because the difference is unbelievable.

You're an awesome person, you have the patience of a saint, and I can't express my appreciation enough. Keep up the good work.

Jessie. I am so incredibly fortunate to have you playing Tsuzuki's other half. You have no idea how grateful I am. ♥ Your Hisoka is so firm and stubborn where he needs to, which I suspect is difficult to play out. Especially in a place like Luceti. And Tsuzuki needs that stubbornness, that conviction, to keep himself emotionally stable. Good job keeping him so IC!

My only crit is that I wish Tsuzuki had the chance to introduce Hisoka to more people. (I know this is difficult because RL takes a lot of your time, so don't take it to heart.)

I absolutely adore your Archie. Like, I cannot express how much I adore him. All the changing his name officially to Poor Archie Kennedy jokes aside, you don't rely too much on BAAAAAAAAW, DRAMA. He's a dude who's been through a lot and that's right there in your portrayal, but he's also a p resilient guy who's working what's essentially a second chance sort of deal.

I also want to add EXTRA kudos for your handling of the trauma in his past; I've seen way too many characters with canon abuse in their past be handled so horribly wrong in RP. There's a habit to gloss over it or go the other way and make that abuse all there is to their character. You, however, manage to balance the fact that Archie does have issues with who he is outside of that, and I will forever love how much work you put into the headcanon on that issue.
