Hey guys, eyes here for a moment \o I have a few things to say, and they are of vague importance. :| This might get a little TL;DR, but bear with me.

1) First of all I want to thank everyone for your patience, and apologize for so many delays. Things sort of stacked and conspired to slow us down, so I'd just like to offer up an assurance that Luceti isn't going anywhere, and neither am I.

2) We're still accepting mod applications up until the 18th, so if that interests you, get on that, eh?

3) You guys have probably noticed that the Nitpicker's Guide is finally complete and posted. It's also available on the Luceti Wikia, so you can use whichever site you prefer; the information is the same on both. For those who are unaware, the Nitpicker's Guide is meant to outline in detail everything you ever wanted to know about the world of Luceti, and then some. I've also rewritten the FAQ, so hopefully between the two of them that'll answer most questions about the roleplay.

4) The draft is now scheduled for July 25th-31st! More details (a final list, description of the area, plus an IC announcement from Bil) will be forthcoming, but I really need to get that final list... uh. Finished. You know. So for those involved, please check out the lists to make sure you're in the right place.

5) YES I KNOW WE ARE WELL PAST DUE FOR AN EVENT. It's time for a bit of lighthearted, silly fun |Db I hope none of you were planning anything serious.



So with all those echoes filtering into the world, it was inevitable that some really weird things would happen. Unfortunately the Shifting system has chosen to drown you in INTERNET FADS~

Over the course of the week, your character may experience the following:

• Chocolate Rain. Literally. Raining chocolate. ENJOY. (YOU MOVE AWAY FROM THE SKY TO BREATHE IN)
  
  
• Dramatic Gopher. Animals have a tendency to turn around and stare dramatically. Trumpets may accompany. (Animal characters can be affected or not, your choice.)
  
  
• LOLCAT. Cats will randomly do a silly pose, and a bizarre, badly written caption will come to mind. This affects all cats. ALL OF THEM. Because every cat is a lolcat at heart. (Residents may discover there are more cats than usual in the village.)
  
  
• Caramel Dansen. At random, upon opening your journal, the song will start playing. This can occur immediately or while you're using it. If you close the journal and wander off, you may still hear it, niggling at the back of your mind. This will continue for up to an hour and can happen often. You may also feel the urge to dance. |D RESISTENCE IS FUTILE.
  
  
• Numa Numa Dance. Same as above, but with a different song. The motions of the dance usually match the song, but... well, if you're feeling creative, you can always make it sillier. :|
  
  
• LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE. If you yell, scream, shout, etc. "LEAVE ME ALONE" to one of the kidnapping bots they will, instead of taking you away, apply black eyeliner/eyeshadow and dump you with a bucket of water before leaving you alone, as directed.
  
  
• Laughing Baby. Any time your character laughs, there's a chance it'll end up sounding like a baby's hysterical giggle. Enjoy the mental image.
  
  
• Anonymous. Randomly a voice post may become completely anonymous; the image is replaced by an incomprehensible silhouette, the voice disguised to hide whoever it is. Even written posts might be transformed and transcribed into a hidden voice. Enjoy confusing the hell out of everyone!
  
  
• Tron Guy. If you happen upon one of the glowing blue discs scattered around the village and pick it up, you are immediately thrust into a Tron motorcycle race... through the village. Walls phase into existence behind your bike, and remain in place, blocking anyone from passing them, until you crash. And you will crash. Violently. And comically. Don't worry, though- they aren't fatal, or even particularly painful. You will, however, stagger around for a while. WHAT A RUSH EH.
  
  
• 4chan. VIEWER BEWARE. Not exactly a meme, but- characters could open their journal and find a random page of 4chan instead, in whatever category of your choosing. You do not have to provide the page or the images. Really, you don't. Please. Usually the category and a character's appropriate screaming is as much detail as we require.
  
  
• Facebook. Characters may, at random, use Facebook phrases and/or references. Demand that someone visit their zoo or water their crops. Demand to know why someone didn't respond to their Poke. Stuff like that. Example:
  
  Emil: Asch, I need to get some srs bzns off my chest D|
  Asch: Ignore.
  Emil: D: Wh-
  Asch: IGNORE.

Rules:

- Describe what your character is experiencing or name the meme; don't just embed a video and leave it at that! Some players don't have the bandwidth to view a whole bunch of media, and we wouldn't want to leave them out of the fun.

- If you feel the need to embed stuff, only embed stuff you have to click to play, and put it behind an lj-cut. No auto-play media UNLESS it's cut. I don't want to load my friend's list and get bombarded with eight different memes 8|

- Do not, I repeat, DO NOT EMBED 4CHAN IMAGES FROM /b OR OTHER INAPPROPRIATE CATEGORIES. IF YOU DO THIS I WILL MURDER YOU. A lot of people do not want to see that shit. I don't want to see any inappropriate linking without some serious NSFW warning/cuts on there, either. If this rule gets broken I'll remove that option and then how will you traumatize your character with tentacle futanari fanart of themselves?


The event will run from July 17th until the 23rd.

Do you have any idea when the draft announcement will be? I'm thinking that I will have Fenimore's birthday soon, and it'd be a rather subdued affair if it came after the draft announcement. I understand that you probably don't know exactly, since first you need to get through the mod stuff and all, but if you have an idea like "well, it certainly won't be before [date] but can't say when after that" that would help. haha, this will be the weirdest birthday ever if I don't put it before the event
