May. 19th, 2008 11:54 pmWe like it when you guys bring problems to us in a timely manner, we really do. It helps us to solve things quickly and efficiently, and helps keep this place running as smoothly as possible.
However.
If there is a problem between two people involving characterization, it would be best for you to speak to the mun in question before bringing it to mod attention. We understand that we're here for a reason, but the reason shouldn't be to play middle man in a matter that A) isn't that big of a deal and B) is not really our business. It's when things get hectic -like now- that we need to step in, but not when Character A-mun doesn't appreciate the portrayal of Character B. Sometimes, the mods aren't even aware of the behavior simply because our characters are not actively involved with Character B, and when there's a complaint from one side without the other's knowledge of the situation, we get a one-sided story to formulate opinions on.
If you have a problem with another mun that has evolved beyond your control, please do tell us about it. But if you haven't contacted the mun or informed them at all, please try to do that first. Thank you.

PS: Additionally, if someone brings their concerns to you about characterization and is perfectly civil about it, please act responsibly and at least take their opinions into consideration. It's only fair.
